Subject: Did Jesus go to hell after dying? |
Bible Note: Thomas Calm down and think! Hell is the Jewish word for the holding place of the dead and it has been commonly misused to speak of a place of punishment. Again Hell is divided into two sections. One hot and dry the other paradise or Abraham's bosom read Luke 16. Jesus went to Hell Abraham's bosom to preach the good news and lead captivity captive Eph 4:8. So one side of hell is empty today. Now you say show me one place in the Bible that says Satan isn’t the ruler of hell. You have it wrong show me one place that says he is. Your asking the Bible to disprove an untruth. The Bible does not disprove every untruth it only proves the truth. Now you say God couldn’t get anymore dirt. Do you really think the Being that created heaven and earth could not get more dirt? In Genesis 18 when the Lord talked with Abraham at the Mamre oaks what kept Him from bending over and picking up a handful? You say Adam had godly power to subdue the world. How do you get from God telling Adam to subdue the earth and God transferring Godly power to him, your referring to Gen 1:28 I assume? Does not man subdue the world, are not animals in submission to man. Man has literally changed the face of this world, we have cut, moved, dug, pushed, pulled and shoved nearly everything into the far ends. Now you imply that man had this power and gave it to Satan, where do you see this transfer. Where does it say God got thrown off earth? Where does it say God lost control? If that be so explain Psalm 50:10-12 "For every beast of the forest is Mine, The cattle on a thousand hills. 11"I know every bird of the mountains, And everything that moves in the field is Mine. 12"If I were hungry I would not tell you, For the world is Mine, and all it contains. Or Psalm 89:11 The heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours; The world and all it contains, You have founded them. Or Psalm 97:1-2 The LORD reigns, let the earth rejoice; Let the many islands be glad. 2Clouds and thick darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Or Psalm 97:5 The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. I think you get the point. God is God to think he was ever locked off earth is absurd. EdB |
