Steve Read what I said, the word we translate hell meant holding place for the dead. Again it was divided into two sections one hot and dry the other paradise (Abraham's bosom) Luke 16 19-31. In a sense yes Abraham's bosom was hell. However remember the meaning of hell has since changed since the only ones there now are the ones that rejected Jesus. |

Scripture ... Matt 5:22, Jas 3:6, 2 Pet 2:4 ... Ed, If that is your definition, you are right. However, 12 of the 13 times the NAS translates the word into hell, it is from Geenna, including (Matt 5:22, Jas 3:6). The meaning has not changed. Tartaroo is the other word (2 Pet 2:4). In Luke 16:19-31 Abraham's bosom and the Hades, place of torment far away from each other. They are also constrasted, as were the differences when each was alive. Just some thots, Steve |
