Hey guys, I dont believe he went to hell in the 'traditionalist' sense ;)i think that the fact that Jesus died for our sins is proof that this is the punishment that will be the fate of the unsaved in the end(not unending conscious torment :)). Jude 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. 2 Peter 2:6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; Deuteronomy 8:20 Like the nations the LORD destroyed before you, so you will be destroyed for not obeying the LORD your God. Psalm 37:38 But all sinners will be destroyed; the future of the wicked will be cut off. Psalm 92 6 The senseless man does not know, fools do not understand, 7 that though the wicked spring up like grass and all evildoers flourish, they will be forever destroyed. 8 But you, O LORD, are exalted forever. Proverbs 21:28 A false witness will perish, and whoever listens to him will be destroyed forever. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. |

Psa 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul to Sheol; Neither wilt thou suffer thy holy one to see corruption. He had to pay the full price of our sins. God doesn't do anything half way. That's a human trait. The example Jesus provided followed the sacrificial lamb of the old testament. They didn't kill the lamb and let it lay there. It went on the sacrifice alter to be burned. Jesus had to go throught the whole process also. |
