1 | Praise the Lord! | Exodus | Hank | 67758
"Sister" writes: "...so, please, don't be so judgemental of me, Sir!" What do you consider judgmental about my post? I cited the facts: Out of 39 posts at the time of my writing, you made only 4 direct scriptural references. I call your attention to the first of 4 statements published by the Lockman Foundation, the owner of this forum, to which you agree every time you submit a post: "1. This post is biblically based and whenever possible, I have included Bible reference to support it." I repeat: This is NOT merely an opinion poll or a place to air one's subjective "convictions" that may have no basis in Scripture. If you prefer to call my defense of the integrity and stated purpose of this forum judgmental, that's your problem, not mine. I rest my case. --Hank
2 | Praise the Lord! | Exodus | EdB | 67822
Hank I hope everyone learns from this. Just because it sounds good, makes sense to us and doesn't really seem to conflict with anything we can think of, doesn't make it right. There were those that cheered on Tremere123 on, but now that you have clearly pointed out at least 5 places where she had implied something that really wasn’t in scripture, I hope they now feel differently. Everyone of us need to use this as a learning experience, when dealing with the word of God each word has to be examined in light of God's word. Please take no offense as none was meant. If I overstepped myself saying this forgive me. EdB |

I made it a point to let the person know that I was responding to that this was my opinion or my belief etc....I even told them to look it up...I was using knowledge I had of the Bible but could not, at the time, give chapters and verse...If I implied anything it was clear that it was my belief or theory...everything I responded to was based off of what I gathered from reading the Bible everyday...Why is this such an offense to all of you? Don't any of you get understanding from the Bible that you can speak on without giving chapter and verse...and aren't many questions asking for opinions? I feel like I walked into a church and wasn't dressed well enough so the Priest kicked me out...not very reassuring when you consider that an unsaved person could come to this forum and instead of getting treated like a brother or sister they are automatically judged and turned away...good job! Oh and by the way, is it too hard for you all to actually find Scriptual proof for yourselves? I don't mind giving chapter and verse but I have been attacked and berated because I didn't give it...when everyone of us is capable of using discernment and using the Bible...am I the only one now who is made to proove everything I say...if that's the case then so be it...I just think it's a little unfair and I wonder do you all welcome newcomers like this all the time or is it just who Hank decides has to be beaten to the ground?

Dear Tremere123, May I offer an observation to your comments? I don't think that there was any direct attempt to "kick you out", "attack you" or "berate". Your own statement in your user profile belies the challenge:"I think this site is very useful in helping us work out our theories and confusion about Scripture". By far the majority of us are not here to work out our "theories".I most certainly hold a very high view of scripture, along with others.(2 Tim.3:16-17) Theorizing has very little if anything to do with the Word of God- if one is a believer! (2 Tim. 2:15) The case for citing and providing a scriptural basis for your questions should be self-evident.(Acts 17:11)It helps you to lay a proper foundation and for Forum members to better understand where you're coming from. It boils down to being an effective communicator. To avoid being misunderstood, one should be as specific and detailed as possible. New believers are very welcome and are given solid answers with years of wisdom behind them. As James writes "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him." Interaction with other solid believers can provide both wisdom and valuable perspective. Speaking the Truth In Love, BradK |

I was reported to the owner of the forum and sent an Advisory Notice...How can you say the majority here is not here to work out their theories? There are people with questions about biblical matters...some don't necessitate scripture but a person with biblical knowledge to explain to them in laymen terms the answer...which I call...my theory, my belief, my opinion...even if I do give ch. and verse I may say that it is my understanding of that verse and, in essence, giving out the ch. and verse to answer a question... you are actually giving your own opinion of what that verse means....we all do not agree because we are not all on the same spiritual level...that's why some ask more and some answer more...Does this not make sense to anyone? I can be very specific and detailed without giving ch. and verse...but okay! I see he importance of it here...I, too, hold a very high view of Scripture and hate that I have to defend that here...I don't have enough years of wisdom I guess. Sister |

Dear tremere123, I sincerely appreciate the honesty in explaining your challenges in conveying your beliefs. Sometimes it's not easy to transfer your thoughts into written statements. I might suggest following the dialoge on the Forum to learn- and feel free to ask questions:-) How can I say that "the majority here is not here to work out their theories?" Well, first of all I would not use the word "theory". To me, a theory is an assumption based on limited information or knowledge, a conjecture. The Bible on the other hand is inerrant truth! (John 17:17) and inspired of God (2 Tim. 3:16). We are here primarily to seek further understanding of the Word and to convey its' established truths. Speaking the Truth In Love, BradK |
