1 | Is not Jesus enough? | Heb 11:39 | TRU4GOD | 43409
I fully support your views on spiritual blessings, I just believe in physical blessings also. I am not contradicting anyone, just showing a part 2 (physical blessing). I believe part 1 (spiritual blessing). Without part 1 I wouldn't be able to have part 2. We can have both, that's all. It's not dangerous, it's a balance. I am not speaking one without the other.
2 | Does God want us to prosper | Deut 28:1 | TRU4GOD | 43408
Never once did I come against spiritual blessings which you mentioned above. If I am not mistaken you noted the word "physical blessings", so my word to you focused on what I would think physical blessings would mean. Yes I named health and prosperity only as mere examples of what a physical blessing could be. I guess I should have asked you what you meant by "physical blessing". Ephesians 1:17 "I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better." Truly sir, no matter what our differences may be, you are my brother in Christ and I love you in the Lord. Sorry about the husband issue (smile)! |

3 | Does God want us to prosper | Deut 28:1 | TRU4GOD | 43391
It's not our money. We are not possessors of anything, just stewards. He said He gives us power to get wealth so that His covenant may be established as He promised our fathers (Deut 8:18). Let's be honest, there is a fine line, but it takes money to establish and build God's kingdom here on earth. You have TV programs carrying the gospel (money), you have 3rd world countries that need our financial help (money), you need money for personal necessities to live, shelter, college, missionaries, your local church, etc. God even knew there was a need for money. It's not for our personal gain, but to help maintain his work on this earth so that people can be reached. And God does want us to prosper, prosperity is not just money, you prosper in your health, you can prosper in the knowledge of God, victory is prospering.
4 | All of the above? | Heb 11:39 | TRU4GOD | 43384
God's word will not return to Him void. If He spoke the blessing, then whether you receive it or not, i will come to pass. You don't have to believe the blessing is for you too, someone else will. Like you said, the blessing to enter the promise land was for all, but only 2 made it. Did God change His mind, no, those that saw past the giants and believed God because God said it. Along with that required obedience. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land (Isaiah 1:19).
5 | Is not Jesus enough? | Heb 11:39 | TRU4GOD | 43381
Such things as, power over all powers of the enemy, healing, protection, long life, good health, prosperity, etc.? Your main question is, is Jesus not enough? Yes, He is more than enough. I didn’t get saved because I needed a new car or because I wanted the tangible things to make me feel good. Jesus showed me his love through his word and convinced me to trust him to take away the pains of the past and still today he has done all of that and more. MATTHEW 6:30-33, If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. I don’t seek God’s hand, I seek Him for who He is to me, but as you have read, Jesus said to seek Him and all these things will be given to you as well. I didn’t say it, He did. He knows we have needs and His word comes with promises that we can have. Here this, how would you feel if you bought your husband a gift. You took your time and energy picking out this gift, you were excited because you knew he would be excited and when you gave him the gift, he responded, “I don’t need or want this, why did you waste your time on tangible things, take it back.” That is what you are saying to Jesus when you don’t receive all that He has for you. Yes, you can still go to heaven without ever receiving any of His promises besides salvation, but even Jesus gave the disciples a modeled prayer in Matthew 6:10, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. You don’t have to wait until you get to heaven to receive. Why wouldn’t you want to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to defeat the enemy’s plan to kill, steal and destroy you (John 10:10)? The bible says in Isaiah 53:5, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him and by His stripes we were healed. Why would He go through all of that for us to say, “that’s okay, I would rather be sick because all I need is you, well He is Jehovah Raphe, Our healer. Healing is Him. Who is getting the glory by you being sick and denying the power of God in you to make you well if you believe. Deut 8:18, says that He has given us power to get wealth so that His covenant may be established which He swore unto our fathers. He said the wealth of the wicked was laid up for the just. In Gen. 8:22, it says as long as the earth remains there shall be seedtime and harvest. We are not possessors of anything, just stewards over what God has given us. He blesses us to bless someone. Nothing He gives us is for personal gain (fleshly desires), but He said in Psalm 37:4,that if we delight ourselves in Him, He would give us the desires of our heart. I believe when you are in fellowship with God, your desires will line up with His will/desires for you. He is not going to give you something that is outside of His will. I do see your point and there is a fine line between God blessing us with things and the world/fleshly desires giving us what we want and then saying God did it. We live in this world, but we are not of this world, so we are strangers, but we are not strangers of God, so why let the world’s wickedness and wrongdoing, deny us the right to have immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us (Eph. 3:20). Even James was aware of people that are seeking God for things rather to be righteous like God. James 4:3 says you ask and receive not because you ask so that you may consume it upon your lusts. On the other hand, James also says, James 4:2, you do not have, because you do not ask God. Bottom line: We should be careful that our motives in serving God are right and that we would be careful to do what He asks so that He would get the glory! We have been bought with a price, it is not about our self-gain, but God’s goodness and sharing our testimonies of Christ with others to encourage others to come to Him and be saved. I don’t seek for gifts, but the gift giver. I really can’t think of any reason why I would tell my Father no. So don’t fear what people might say if you believe that God’s promises are still for today. Look up the word salvation (soteria) in Greek, it means 1) TO DELIVER (Didomi) - to give something to someone of one's own accord to give one something, to his advantage, to bestow a gift, to grant, give to one asking, let have. 2) HEALTH 3) TO BE SAVED 4) DELIVERANCE |

6 | Promise? | Heb 11:39 | TRU4GOD | 43205
The scripture is referencing OT saints. Jesus was/is the promise that had not been fulfilled in their lifetime, but they knew of the coming Messiah. For New Testament saints (you and I), the promise of the son of God is being fulfilled now, and will be fulfilled when Christ returns for His Bride/The Church. In Christ, their is an inheritance/blessings that we are entitled to as believers. That would include such things as, power over all powers of the enemy, healing, protection, long life, good health, prosperity, eternal life, etc. Cross references for Heb. 11:29 Hebrews 10 36 For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. Hebrews 11 13 All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. |

7 | Do we have a flawed New Testament? | 2 Tim 3:16 | TRU4GOD | 43201
1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. If we believe God, by faith we believe His Word is true and profitable. Without faith it is impossible to please God, so doubting His Word will only cancel out the effectiveness His Word will have on our lives. God and His Word does not fail, so the fault lies in our doubt, disobedience to His Word and ignorance of the Word. |

8 | Can we say that all of the scriptures | 2 Tim 3:16 | TRU4GOD | 43200
If we believe God, by faith we believe His Word is true and profitable. Without faith it is impossible to please God, so doubting His Word will only cancel out the effectiveness His Word will have on our lives. God and His Word does not fail, so the fault lies in our doubt, disobedience to His Word and ignorance of the Word. Ephesians 3: 16 I ask him to make you very strong in heart by his Spirit. He has great and wonderful blessings and is able to do so because of the fullness of his glory. 17 And I ask that Christ may live in your hearts because you believe in him. I ask that you may live and grow in love. 18 I ask that God will give you power to know how wide and long and high and deep the love of Christ is. All Christians should know that. 19 I ask God that you may know the love of Christ which is more than we can ever know. I ask that you may be filled with everything that God has. 20 God can do much more than we ask him to do, or we even think of. He does it by his power which is working in us. |

9 | In Ephesians Ch.2 what was Paul saying h | Eph 2:1 | TRU4GOD | 43196
Before we were saved are spirit was dead. Meaning, we are a spirit (God-like), we possess a soul (mind, will and emotions) and live in a body. Our spirit was dead because of sin, therefore we were doomed for hell. We were separated from God. When we accepted Christ, He made our spirit alive; reconciled to God. We have been saved by God's love and Jesus' blood because He loves us. It's not anything we have done to deserve enternal life with our Father, only because of His loving kindess are we saved from hell. God has brought the Jews and Gentiles together and made us one in Him (Body of Christ). We are no longer strangers to God, but part of God's family now that we have accepted Him as Lord. God's family is like a house and we are apart of the building. The apostles and prophets are like the lower walls of the house and you are the building on this foundation. Jesus Christ is the big stone at the corner. He is the one who holds the whole house together, and it becomes a holy house belonging to the Lord. You too are a part of this house. God himself lives in this house by his Spirit. |

10 | CAN YOU REMARRY THE SAME SPOUSE | Deut 24:4 | TRU4GOD | 43045
MAYBE I AM NOT READING THE INITAL QUESTION CORRECTLY, BUT WHO SAID EITHER OF THEM MARRIED SOMEONE ELSE? DOES THE DEUT. SCRIPTURE APPLY IF NEITHER ONE OF THEM MARRIED ANYONE ELSE, BUT WANTS TO REMARRY EACH OTHER? WHAT ABOUT YOUR VIEW ON 1 Corinthians 7:10 To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. 11)But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife. |

11 | Speaking in tongues? | Acts 2:1 | TRU4GOD | 43043
AGAIN, I AM LEARNING TO BE MORE DETAILED IN MY ANSWERS. I UNDERSTAND WHEN YOU GET SAVED THE HOLY SPIRIT COMES INTO YOUR LIFE. I WAS SPEAKING ABOUT ACTS 19:1 "While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples 2)and asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" IF YOU SEE THAT SCRIPTURE DIFFERNTLY, THEN WHAT INTERPRETATION DO YOU GET FROM IT. HE EVEN CALLED THEM DISCIPLES. WHEN JESUS WAS BAPTIZED AND THE DOVE (REPRESENTING THE HOLY SPIRIT) CAME UPON HIM, ARE YOU TELLING ME HE WASN'T SAVED BEFORE THEN. I AM SURE YOU ARE NOT. Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: MAYBE YOU ARE ABLE TO EXPLAIN WHAT I AM TRYING TO GET ACROSS BETTER, PLEASE I AM OPEN FOR SUGGESTIONS. |

12 | CAN YOU REMARRY THE SAME SPOUSE | Deut 24:4 | TRU4GOD | 43038
I CAN SEE NOW HOW MY APPROACH WOULD BE ASSUMED AS DOING AWAY WITH THE LAW. I KNOW THAT JESUS CAME TO FULFILL THE LAW NOT DO AWAY WITH IT. MY RESPONSE STEMMED MORE FROM DIFFERENES IN THE COVENANT (OLD TEST. VS. NEW TEST). WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO A WOMAN CAUGHT IN ADULTERY IN THE OLD TESTAMENT VERSUS WHAT WOULD HAPPEN NOW IN THE NEW TESTAMENT? THE PUNISHMENTS ARE DIFFERENT. THE LAW STILL SAYS THOU SHALT NOT COMMIT ADULTERY.
13 | How do you get the Holy ghost? | NT general Archive 1 | TRU4GOD | 43033
Acts 19 Paul in Ephesus 1While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples 2)and asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" They answered, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit." 3)So Paul asked, "Then what baptism did you receive?" "John's baptism," they replied. 4)Paul said, "John's baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus." 5)On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. 6)When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. 7 There were about twelve men in all. |

14 | How could the Bible be true? | NT general Archive 1 | TRU4GOD | 43032
Matthew 27 37Above his head they placed the written charge against him:THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS. Mark 15 26The written notice of the charge against him read THE KING OF THE JEWS. Luke 23 38There was a written notice above him, which read THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS. 19Pilate had a notice prepared and fastened to the cross. It read:JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS. They all sound the same to me. |

15 | To heaven immediately aft death orwait? | NT general Archive 1 | TRU4GOD | 43031
Yes. The bible says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8 we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. |

17 | Is it ok to question God after a tragety | Bible general Archive 1 | TRU4GOD | 43028
Yes. As you grow in God and develop a relationship with Him, it would be only right to ask. You don't ask arrogantly and you don't ask in doubt or anger. Think of a parent/child relationship. How would you respond if your child came up to you demanding answers without respecting authority and the wisdom of their parents. Well the same way with God. Ask believing He is God, all powerful, all knowing, the Great I am. There must be a respect in anything you talk to God about. Come as child seeking for answers. We can't tell God how to answer us, but we sure can inquire of the Lord. He knows what you need when you ask and believe that He loves you and is concerned about the things are you going through.
18 | whats baptism of repentence? | Bible general Archive 1 | TRU4GOD | 43027
John baptized with water as an outward expression of a person's repentance. We do still do that today when a person is saved.
19 | What is Joy? | Ps 16:11 | TRU4GOD | 43026
Happiness is based upon your external surroundings. Joy comes from within. The joy of the Lord is your strength. Joy is there when circumstances around you look dim. Joy comes from trusting the Lord and His word to supply your every need. It stems from the love of God and the peace of God that passes all understanding. Joy is not allowing outside forces to determine your attitude towards the promises of God.
20 | is it possible to keep sinning and keep | Rom 6:1 | TRU4GOD | 43025
God will forgive you, but repentence not only means to be forgiven, but to turn away from. God knows your heart when you ask for forgiveness. Are you asking for forgiveness because you are truly sorry for the wrong you have done against God? God is able to break the stronghold the enemy has over you that is causing you to continue in sin. It starts with your motive and intent of the heart. Knowing you have a problem and confessing it to God, while believing He is able to deliver you is the way to be delivered. Praying, seeking God for truth in His word concerning your battle and trust in Him to guard you against diverse temptations and give you a way of escape are all ways that you are showing God that you hate the sin that is in your life and you need him to take it away. Otherwise you are just hoping or maybe you are not ready to get rid of it.
