262 | Why are we judged? | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 161781
Hello Nsquared, and welcome to the forum. You say, “Christianity emphazises alot on equality and the aspect of forgiveness?” What is it exactly that you mean by forgiveness? Are you saying that God just excuses our sin condition or what? I think I can answer your question but I am not sure if we are on the same page and I don’t want to give you bad information. Have a great day, CDBJ |

264 | Why are we judged? | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 161829
Hi Nsquared, That's an interesting post and it does all seem rather redundant doesn’t it? God hates sin, and because of His character, “He must” punish sin and the Bible says that we are all sinners. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; So how can God just up and forgive us of our sins if we confess them, as you say? Can God just up and excuse us for our sins? That would destroy the eternal perfect character of God. It sure seems like a pickle; God must punish sin, as the Bible says, but then that would mean separating us from God forever and God doesn’t want that because He loves us so much. God devised a fantastic plan where as He could satisfy His perfect righteousness and yet provide a way that we could spend eternity with Him in heaven. Have a great day, CDBJ |

266 | Is there such a thing as purgatory? | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 161837
I can’t say why people believe what they want to believe but the Bible makes no mention of a place called purgatory. When you stop and think about it, why would such a place be needed, if one really understands what the Bible teaches? CDBJ |

267 | Christianity vs. Other religions | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 161843
Technically speaking, Christianity isn’t a religion it’s a relationship. Religions are a counterfeit contrivance of the devil and are in opposition to the work of God. 2 Tim. 2:25-26 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; [26] And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. In religion, man is supposed to get all of the credit for the work he does. i.e. the point system. In Christianity, God does all the work and He gets all the credit and all man can do is thank Him. There won’t be any braggers in heaven!! Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Ephes. 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. 268 | God sanctions murder of the innocent? | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 161851
Are you implying that God didn’t know what He was doing and you could do a better job! You can assume all you want about God but God’s Word informs you that you will end up a looser in the long run. Romans 9:19-20 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? [20] Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? You tell God how wrong He is and we will see how well you make out. I have read the end of the Book and my friend you will lose! God has a reason for everything that He does and sometimes he doesn’t see fit about informing us why, but He is who He is and He is right no matter what He does, even if we don’t understand it. Col. 1:16-17 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: [17] And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 269 | How to witness to an Islamic? | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 164344
I don’t know who Allah is because I have never personally met him. I can’t say the same about Jesus, God’s Son, because I have had and I am still having a personal relationship with him now. Ones that haven’t had this relationship don’t have a clue what I am referring to. It’s that same as trying to explain the color red to a person that’s been blind all of their life. The relationship comes about by the working of Gods’ mercy in action, through faith in God’s Son, Jesus. i.e. it can’t be earned or deserved. God is Holy and pure and righteous, so that it is impossible for God to have a relationship with man because of man’s unholy deplorable condition. The only way for man to have a relationship with God is for man to be as good as God is, and we humans just can’t crank out the perfection that’s needed. Man is sinful, according to God, and God can’t just turn His head and excuse sin; the sin problem must be solved and paid for. For man to pay the price, that a Holy God demands, would require that man be separated for God; this is to the point that man could never be near God. The problem is that God is love and he has a fantastic love attitude toward man but on the other hand God is “Just” and he “must” punish sin. God came up with the perfect solution: he decided to pay the price for sin, which is spiritual death or, separation from him. There is a glitch though, God can’t die, it’s impossible for him to die. God had the good sense to know this, so he made the decision, in eternity past to come down to Earth and become a man. This man would be the Son of God and not a descendent of the first man who sinned, so he isn’t considered of the seed of Adam. In fact God’s Son would be born of a female Virgin to prove that the male gender had nothing to do with his birth. This means that Adam’s old sin nature wasn’t passed on to this promised one from God, who would be eligible to pay the price for sin, since he had no sin of his own. This one from God would become our sin substitute and could pay the price that a Holy God demanded. God says that if we will accept the work that he did for us, in the person of his Son that he will credit to our account what the Son deserved. The person that God sent was his precious and loving Son Jesus. If we reject Jesus, and what he did for us, God has no other solution and no other choice but to let us be separated from him for ever. Thus the following statement made by Jesus. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If the adversary, the devil, can get peoples minds diverted in any direction away from what God himself did in the person of God’s Son, that puts them on the road to personal destruction. It doesn’t mater what name one wants to tack on God the results will be the same if one doesn’t trust in the perfect work of Jesus God’s only unique Son. Guess who gets all the credit? GOD I hope you will have a nice day, CDBJ |

275 | Arguing the inspiration of the Bible | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 164864
The biggest, as I see it, would be the prophecies in the Old Testament that were fulfilled in the person of Jesus. It has been calculated, by someone who is good at math and a lot smarter then I am, that the prophecies that all came to pass in the one person of Jesus the Christ where close to thirty three trillion to one odds. I can’t even imagine how much that is; I don’t have a frame of reference for figures that high, CDBJ |

278 | Does Satan Really Exist? | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 166205
Hello Dr. B. As you have suggested, “If this is all that I have achieved, it is enough, but it is also important to witness to the truth we have found.” What truth have you found with regards to the person of Jesus Christ, with the following in mind? John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Jesus said that he is “the truth”. The “I am”, or the verb structure of that verse, in the Koine Greek of the original language, is in the indicative mood, present tense, active voice, 1st person singular of EIME. The indicative mood indicates a reality, the present tense means it is still working as we speak, and the active voice means the Jesus himself is producing the action of the verb, the truth. What truth about Jesus have you personally experienced in your lengthy time of studying the Bible? You have shared your comments about Satan how about sharing with us what you have found out about Christ, who is the main character of Revelation. Rev. 1:1 (A) The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, Rev. 22:20-21 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. [21] The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Have a great day, CDBJ |

Hi Md1234, you have my curiosity up. Are you of the opinion that if the King James Version was good enough for the Apostle Paul, it should be good enough for us? Or are you telling us that you are actually capable of reading and understanding the Hebrew and Koine Greek of the original languages? Have a great day, CDBJ |
