Aixen7z4 You said, "In any case, God did not send any angels to protect him. He did not strike his attackers dead. He stood by, so to speak, while they crucified him, in our place. It must have seemed that God had not only forsaken him but that God himself had turned on him, to punish him for our sins." Your absolutely right and understand that Jesus knew this was going to happen since creation, since Jesus is the Word and Word explained the crucifixion in Psalms 22 Jesus always had that knowledge. Also remember the Human Jesus understood and knew since the time he was able to read Psalm 22 and the prophet Isaiah. In fact Jesus demonstrated this knowledge at the age of 12 when he amazed the teachers with His knowledge and understanding of scripture. Nothing of the crucifixion surprised Jesus He knew exactly what and how it was going to turn out. In fact since God is not limited by time Jesus while in heaven saw himself on the cross both before he step through the womb of a virgin to live among us on earth and now in eternity past. To think Jesus announced in surprise that Why did you forsake me limited Jesus’ deity for neither he nor God were surprised by the events of the day. EdB |
