Why is it Hank, that I sense hostility in your words? Personally I am lead by the Holy Spirit concerning the Word. Anyone who is sincere concerning their study, and adheres to 2 Timothy 2:15 can discern the difference. I think you know this as well as I do. Do you make the claim that ALL translations are equal? I stated in my profile, “I use the KJV, NIV and Interlinear Hebrew, Greek and English Versions of scripture. My Electronic References are provided by eSword, which in my opinion is to scripture what Windows is to the computer…” I also stated that some translations are no more than tools of the enemy. Do you profess that a child of God can not discern such, Hank? I neglected to say that, included in my “electronic references” are dozens of Various Scriptural Translations. I made no statement as to which TRANSLATION of the Scriptures I considered not to be inspired, and Hank, frankly I resent your implication and tone. I do not depend solely on mans knowledge. Neither should anyone who desires to know the truth concerning the Word. I reiterate the first statement in my profile. “I believe in the Word as "a whole" without the leaven of man. If I offend you, Hank, I am sorry, but don’t expect me to change just because you think I should. Isn’t this like the foot telling the hand how it should act? I believe it was J. Vernon Magee who made the statement. “ You can graze on the pastures of others, but give your own milk. I say that, for those who don’t like fresh white milk; to each his own. Though I do like biscuits made from it, I don’t like buttermilk. Hank, when you see or hear me state which TRANSLATIONS of the Scriptures are not inspired, you will see me provide enough scriptural proof to convince even yourself, that is if you actually possess the discernment I credit you for. GB ... Are you saying that ONLY two (KJV and NIV) translations of the Bible are inspired? If so, are you only saying that those ONLY translated in English are? On the later, then I claim you to be prejudice. Then on the first question - what happens when the KJV and NIV disagree in how a word should be translated? Did the Holy Spirit change His mind? Hi Searcher Though it appears that most seem to think I am saying this, No, I am not saying this. I have not said this. I cannot understand why these folks are so enraged by what it is that I have said. Please tell me where the NIV and KJV, in your opinion "disagree." GB |

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (KJV) Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. (NIV) For one example ... and that is all I need ... KJV says service, NIV says worship |
