The whole book of Hebrews goes into this subject quite a bit. Its main purpose is to contrast the superiority of the christianity over that of the Law of Moses and Judiasm. One of the Book's main tenents is that you and I are NOW able to approach God directly through Jesus, His Son whereas before in Judiasm, the Jews had to go through their High Priest and he didn't know very much and couldn't answer most of their questions. Now God deals directly with His children like I stated and we can pray directly to Him in the name of Jesus Christ. Now, you and I know we're not going to find the specific words as you mention above. God expects us to study His Word and figure SOME things on our own. But clearly through His Word, we can also see that in today's world there is no one performing miracles anywhere even close to the kind of miracles in the Bible. Hope this helps to clarify and God bless. Rowdy |

Rowdy: God the Son did not come to start a new religion that is opposed to and in conflict with the religion of God the Father. Properly understood, Bible Christianity and Bible Judaism are not in conflict with each other. Rather, true Christianity is the fulfillment, not the abolition, of true Judaism. The New Covenant does not replace the Old, but instead renews it. If the Old Testament is dead and buried, then why are you still carrying it around with you? That is, assuming you carry the entire Bible, and not just a copy of the New Testament. If the Old Testament is not relevant, then perhaps you should go through your New Testament and white out all the OT quotations. kalos |

As I've stated many, many times the OT is an incredibly valuable document for all the reasons I've stated previously and a whole lot more. The main reasons why the OT is obsolete and the NT takes its place is the difference mainly between its form of worship, method of salvation through Jesus the Perfect Sacrifice and the fact we as christians can now approach God the Father directly through Jesus instead of going through another man (Levite Priest). I would never discard my treasured OT for its incredible insight into the mind of God and His amazing amount of patience and love He showed to His beloved Jewish children. But again as I've stated before, there are many (millions in fact, throughout the world) of faithful christians who see this contrast the same way as I do. Yes, Jesus fulfilled the OT by living the perfect, sinless life and then died the perfect sinless Sacrifice for you and me so that we could go Home to our Father after the ending of this world. My main scriptural support would come from the Book of Hebrews which clearly demonstrates and explains the superiority of Christianity over the whole of Judiasm and again in the Book of Romans, Chapter 8:1-4 God bless.
