Hi graceful, It is a mystery why God would die in our place. But I would have to agree with Radioman that we will not find in the Scriptures that He "became sin". I typed those words in the Search Bible Text here at the forum and it wasn't there. I didn't find it in my concordance anywhere. In looking at Psalm 22 right now, I reaffirm my choice of the NASB over the NKJ for that Psalm. The NKJ capitalizes the pronouns throughout, but when I consider verse 6 I can not agree with that interpretation. Psalm 22:6, "But I am a worm, and not a man,..." The NKJ does not capitalize "worm", and that is good, but that verse alone tells me that the main thrust of the Psalm is about David himself. And again, any forsakenness that Jesus would have felt would be that of a man [sic]. Psalm 22:19, "But Thou, O Lord, be not far off; O Thou my help, hasten to my assistance." John 8:55, "and you have not come to know Him, but I know Him;..." From the heart, Ray |

Good morning Ray I just happened across your post and 'we will not find in the Scriptures that He "became sin"' caught my eye. Some one may have already posted this and I apologize if they have, but, without having read through this entire post, graceful may have been referring to 2 Cor 5:21 if she said Jesus "became sin". While the KJV doesn't say he "became sin" it does phrase it like this: For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. So, if someone said Jesus "became sin" or "was turned into sin" or "was made sin", I would automatically think of 2 Cor 5:21 Your Sister in Christ Meredith |
