"1) Every non-Christian that I know considers it wrong for a Christian to drink. What does drinking do to our testimony?" Hmmm... 1) Every non-Christian that I know considers it wrong for a Christian to condemn homosexuality. What does condemning homosexuality do to our testimony? or 1) Every non-Christian that I know considers it wrong for a Christian to claim the only way to Heaven. What does claiming the only way to Heaven do to our testimony? This is no point at all. We are not to be judged by the world, but only by God and fellow believers. |

Greetings Greg! This was only one of several points, but it is valid. It concerns the "weaker brother" principle. We are not free to doing something wrong because of public opinion, but we do have an obligation not to be intentionally offensive to others. Therefore, one can make the case that drinking would violate this principle (at least in many cases). However, I don't base my stand on this point alone! :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
