1 | Is asking for money false? | 2 John 1:10 | DocTrinsograce | 143684
Hi, Luis... You misunderstand. None of these men are "mocking God's truth." They wouldn't do that. They are men who love the truth of God. Sometimes, on the other hand, we all find the ideas of men quite worthy of a little mocking. :-) How do you reconcile your unorthodox opinions of pastoral and missions support with the explicit instructions of Paul to the contrary? Were the churches of the first century committing deeds of ultimate evil by supporting the mission trips of men like Paul and Barnabas? In Him, Doc |

Greetings Doc, I appreciate your response, however again, "you seem to be missing the foundational point"...Paul, Barnabas, and all other Faithful Christians that "we Idolize" today, had sold all and were aliens. Is this not clear? I don't mean this disrespectfully, but the Faithful's position of being in, but "not of" the world/their culture is paramount to a proper understanding. Everything you or I do rest on either the Foundation of Christ/True Repentance...or on Man/might and power and human princples/sinking sand... ...need I remind you "The Flesh counts 4 nothing, and if Christ indeed is the power in "your sails", you will not sail using human principles in the name of Jesus??? (Read Col 2 and all of Galatains) This issue of "Selling All" isn't some secondary or outdated issue.(The temptation is to dismiss this "truth that Jesus taught and reason, "well we are doing good things, so "selling all isn't necessary" (Well question is, "Is the church really doing good things???" Woe to them that call good evil and evil good!!!) This is "The Foundational Issue". If you look in the Gospels you will see repeatedly that the Cost of Discipleship was/is "Selling All". You can't even be discipled until you sell all. Therefore if there are souls that are living out the 5 Offices and haven't sold all, well "I think the implications", are obvious? I am more than willing to share truth, but it would be nice to have "someone receive it"( I am not whining, to the contrary I have sorrow upon sorrow...), however Jesus had the same problem. He often remarked on how little to no faith there was as He traveled from town to town, etc... Of course, today we are under the "delusion" there is such a "bountiful harvest", but only problem is the Harvest is of the Tares, not the Wheat... Many are called, but "few" our chosen. They will praise HIM with thier lips, but their heart will be far from HIM...They think they will be heard for their many words, and they give out of their abundance. Does any of this sound familiar??? I hope in your case it isn't, however in my neck of the woods there is a church on every corner, but the smell of death permeates my nostrils. Of course, this shouldnt be surprising since Scripture says Jesus will return as in the Days of Noah. If you recall their were only 8 saved in the Days of Noah. Now of course, there is a exponentially greater world population now, however, "you do the math". Anyway, thanks for your respectful email, and I look forward to hearing from you again... "Sell All" Scriptures: Matt 13:44 "The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. 2 Matt 19:21 Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." 4 Mark 10:21 Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, "One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." Acts 2:45 and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. I have shared truth, whether you receive it or not, is between you and God. If you have any "sincere" questions about "selling all", I will be happy to answer them and share scripture, but I will not debate "this obvious truth" any more...( I say this with soberness, not anger.) NewCovenant7777, You have had much to say about "selling all", not being a part of the "mammon system", and many other terms that you do not define. I find for all your words there is little of substance that I understand you to be saying. Do you deny that Paul, and others which I think we would agree on the genuineness of their walk in Jesus, worked for a living, and in so doing, participated in the economy of the world? Do you suppose that, to sell his tents, Paul may have had to purchase tents? Believe me, I appreciate what you are saying towards our commitment to Christ. Certainly Jesus told some to sell all their possessions. But consider Zacchaeus, Luke 19:8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. 9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house. Salvation is come to this house. Before you add to this scripture, to tell us that Jesus would have later told Zacchaeus to "sell the other half", tell me where in the teachings of Paul, or Peter, or John, or Hebrews, etc. does the Bible teach us to follow this practice of selling our possessions? Certainly as God leads us individually. But to cast aspertions (sp?) with such a broad brush on the body of Christ, and such are of the ones you have been dialoging with, without either personal knowledge of their lives and walk, or actual scriptural backing to your statements, actively works against your message of, IF I understand you, the call to live holy, sacrifices lives. Jesus did not tell us all to sell our things. He does tell us all to deny ourselves, take up our cross daily, and follow Him. The "sell out" required is in the heart, when I have not held back anything from Him. Again, I could not agree with you more that we must be crucified with Christ. This is a condition of the heart, not the wallet. God tells me to Luke 16:9 "And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home. Luke 16:11 "Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? use the resources in this world, resources He has entrusted me with. If I follow a formula and not His leading in my life, how much blessing will I not receive for not being a part of His purposes? I would like to echo Brad's questions to you: At what church to you attend and fellowship? Love in Christ, Mark |

4 | Is asking for money false? | 2 John 1:10 | NewCovenant7777 | 143721
Greetings Mark, thanks for your correspondence and the "sincerity in which it was written". All your questions have been answered in previous correspondences. I would reiterate them, but you touched on "a broad spectrum" of what Christ is proclaiming and living through me, and again I am confident if you read over all I have submitted through this Website since Sunday Morning, all your questions will be answered. I will resubmit my "Sell All" Correspondence immediately following this one. I think that will answer many of your questions and should be convincing Scripturally for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear. I do need to say this though, I have "repeatedly said "Selling All" isn't necessarily about "selling all your possessions". God desires obedience over sacrifice. There are many misguided souls, cults, etc...that sell all their possessions and even some in the name of Jesus, more times than not, if not all, "their sacrifices" are in vain. One of the most misunderstood truths in God's Word, and there are many, is that when God says He desires obedience over sacrifice that it is a reference to obeying the law(It is in truth, however the key is it is Christ obeying the Law, not us 4 HIM). It isn't! It is speaking of "obeying the Holy Spirit" who will lead us to our cross, as He did Jesus, to be crucified...thus "take up your cross and follow HIM". When Jesus, who fulfilled the Law, and is the Word of God lives through our crucified souls, He will obey the Law and live the Word through our crucified souls(and when we sin/fail grace is there and all are sins are forgiven...amen and amen). This is why in Matt 11:28-31 the Word says, "His burden is light and His yoke is easy"...I don't know about you, but me trying to obey the law hasnt been and isn't light or easy, but it makes perfect sense that "If He is doing it, It is light and easy!!!" amen and amen... God could care less about you selling all your possessions for the sake of proving anything to HIM or others. However, when Christ lives literally through a Crucified Soul, He will live the Life of Repentance He lived while on earth, through us. Therefore, as I have said in a a few previous correspondences, Jesus meets you where you are at and "transitions you out of the mammon system"(not for Macro-Salvation/Eternal Life, but for Micro Salvation/daily walk) and again, the main thing is when He lives through us we will no longer submit to the princples of the world/mammon system, but rather be free in HIM living a life of power, love and a sound mind sowing and reaping in the Unseen/New Jerusalem(this is why Scipture says, "the just shall walk by faith, not by "sight"). This is a process (But He does it, not us 4 HIM). The fact is, as I have experienced as He has lived through me, the world does truly "grow strangely dim" and at this point you couldnt pay me to own a home, car, win the lottery, own other Idols... I have absolutely no desire for any of those things. Now, if the Lord leads me to marry, perhaps a "sufficient home and car" will be in order. However, this is a big "maybe" because I am content as I am, single... and at this point don't see me getting married. However, If I did, God would send me a crucified woman, and we would Married Life of Repentance. Fact is owning a Home, etc...isn't in of itself evil. The First Century Church met in Homes, but please read Acts 1 and 2, and listen to the Holy Spirit, and don't rationalize!!! Much more could be said, but I hope this is sufficient for now. Again, please read all my Correspondences over past 4 days. There is one Correspondences with 4 "Sell All" Scriptures that will prove that is what Jesus desires of us, but again it isnt necessarily about "selling all our possessions", alhtough the Disciples did. It is more about not having ownership and or getting one's Identity or worth from the things of the world.(Acts 1 and 2) And only He can "truly" do that where it is pleasing to HIM(Faith/not might and power). I Must run, thanks for your email. I hope this clarified things. Be careful of "setting up straw men" to justify your Idolatry". This is bold, but truth in love. I will resend "The Sell All" Cor. shortly... Crucified in HIM, Luis |
