1 | He does not wish for any to perish... | 2 Pet 3:9 | KatieK | 81291 | ||
Radioman2 - is there a question in here? Below is a good example of how God does not wish any should perish... Ezekiel 22 29 The people of the land practice extortion and commit robbery; they oppress the poor and needy and mistreat the alien, denying them justice. 30 "I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none. 31 So I will pour out my wrath on them and consume them with my fiery anger, bringing down on their own heads all they have done, declares the Sovereign LORD ." God created us in His image, as with Him in heaven He has the authority, so on earth he gave man the authority to rule. That we gave up that authority (to the devil) was man's wilful action that cost God a great expense in the life of His son to win back that authority. Now that though Christ the authority has been returned to man should we not accept the responsibility it brings. To seek God's Kingdom and His ways and walk accoringly. 2 Peter 3: 9 ....not desiring that any should perish... It does not say it is God's goal that any should not perish because then He would have to usurp the authority that he gave man on earth to rule. God would not make it His goal - because the outcome is reliant on anothers' action... mans. Romans 12: tells us God's will, ........1Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual[1] act of worship. 2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. Man has the responsibility to act and goevern in a way wholly agreeable to God.... When will we accept that. That it is not for us to sit back as observers, but to get in there and be active and responsible. |
