1 | Meaning "dead faith" doesn't save? | James 2:24 | mitelt | 112368
Morant61, nice job. If I may be allowed (and with some fear that I may re-kindled a previous "debate") replacing "works" with "baptism" in your last statement produces the following: "In other words, our faith is demonstrated by our baptism." and "... - salvation produces baptism, baptism does not produce salvation." I hope I am not taking undo liberties with your post, but it works for me. Well done. |

2 | Meaning "dead faith" doesn't save? | James 2:24 | Emmaus | 112382
mitelt, Who works in baptism? God according to Paul in Col 2:12 "having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead." This ties in rather well with Romans 6:3-5. Sacraments are signs and instruments, just as the Incarnation was a sign and instrument of our salvation. Just something upon which to meditate not debate.
