Country Girl ... One of two things is happening: My mind is wandering at haphazard all over the place or your posts on this thread are, because I'm getting at best a pale version of what I assume you may be talking about. If my mind is the fuzzy culprit, there's nothing much you can do about that I suppose. But if your posts are somewhat myopic on the subject of OSAS, perhaps we may be able to work something out. Let's at least try. ...... Please don't take umbrage at what I'm going to opine: From your posts I gather that you don't have a real grasp of the doctrine of the eternal security of the believer, or that you have problems accepting it, or both. Am I not right? ..... So let's begin the Bible study process and try to learn together what the Bible actually teaches, taking to our study minds that are clear of presuppositions, yours and mine. And let's launch the study with a question for you, which is this: A regenerated follower of Jesus Christ is taught to pray, "Forgive us our debts as we have forgiven our debtors" This is taken from Jesus' model prayer, a.k.a., the "Lord's Prayer," which He taught His disciples to pray, as you already know. Now, this born-again believer goes out and sins [Christians do sin!], but he dies before getting around to asking God's forgiveness of his sin. Is this born-again follower of Christ therefore condemned to hell or does he go to heaven? Please think about this thoroughly, seek the Bible's answer prayerfully, and attempt to the very best of your ability to give theologically sound, Bible-based reasons for your answer. I'll pick up from there. If this sounds fair and worthwhile to you, let's go. Your move. But please try to be as precise and as specific in your answer as you can. And please, since this is a Bible study exercise, no unsubstantiated opinions -- no "methinks" allowed :-) --Hank | ||||||

Hank, please do me a favor and check out my recent post to Karen, number 129074 and see if that helps answer some of your questions. Thanks I've got some homework to get caught up on. Just got started on a couple of tough classes so my posts to the Forum are few and far between. Blessings to you. Country Girl |
