1 | Is the church is infallible? | 1 Tim 3:15 | Hank | 136767
Al - You wrote, "To be Catholic is to be fully Christianized." I don't know what being fully "Christianized" means. If one can be fully Christianized -- whatever it means -- then I should think that he could also be partially Christianized, is that right? Tell me where the Bible teaches about how to become Christianized. And where it says that one must be Catholic in order to be Christianized. But I am breaking the rules of good English usage. I am using a word (Christianized) without having any idea of what it means, so I defer to you to tell me. ..... By the way, Al, as others have mentioned to you, you are not to use this Forum to soapbox your opinions or to disparage the belief systems that Protestants hold. I have defended on this Forum the right of Catholics to their beliefs and have not bashed them. We Protestants expect the same treatment. I may not always agree with your opinions, may, in fact, not always respect your opinions, but I defend your right to religious freedom. That does not mean that you have a right on this Forum to say what you wish about any person or group of persons. Posting to this Forum is a privilege, not a right, granted to you by the site owner, The Lockman Foundation, and you assumed the responsibility to follow their guidelines when you registered and you re-affirm it every time you enter a post. Please study the guidelines carefully and post accordingly. The guidelines are not provided as garnish to complete the decor of the Forum. They mean what they say and should be taken very seriously. --Hank

Al, From my perpective it's not that you're so much being offensive as it is you're pushing forth a denominational bias. This Forum is not intended to be a battleground for a redux of the Reformation. However, you seem to be making it one. If a Biblically based question deals with either Catholicism or Protestantism, we're within grounds to respond from our perspective viewpoint. However, if I recall correctly, you seem to have jumped in, taking the offensive against protestantism from the get-go! Your perspective seems to be that Catholicism is 100 per cent correct, right, infallible, etc. You can only be a "true" Christian if you're "Catholic" and that only the Catholic interpretation and theology is correct and valid. I've heard ALL this before, so you'll pardon me if I appear to be overstating the case. With all due respect, that's what I'm hearing. I simply don't agree. I also don't consider myself overly ignorant or remiss in my understanding of scripture. Far be it for myself to post to a Catholic Study Bible Forum and "dis" the Pope, the Virgin Mary, infallibility, etc. What type of response do you honestly think I'd get? I hope you truly understand where this member is coming from. Its' my hope and prayer that you'd attempt to make your presence here a little more in line with Romans 14:1. God Bless, BradK |
