1 | Order of events at the 2nd Coming? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Makarios | 14858
Dear Tim, Is the Battle in Ezekiel 38 also the Battle of Armageddon or is this a different battle? Blessings, Nolan |

2 | Order of events at the 2nd Coming? | 1 Thess 4:17 | EdB | 14862
Two different, both have the same spiritual princes Gog and Magog involved but are different battles. Ex38 will probably occur before the Tribulation and will set up the world for the Antichrist. |

3 | Order of events at the 2nd Coming? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Makarios | 14878
Hello EdB, Will God really allow the City that bears his name, Jerusalem (1 Kings 11:36), to be conquered by this united front against Israel, when Ezekiel 38 and 39 says that the invaders will be destroyed? This is not a "debate", my friend! I am honestly seeking an answer here to this question. Or is it that Christ will come in response to Anti-Christ's exaltation of himself as "the messiah" (2 Thess. 2:4)? I also agree with Tim, the Calvinism/Arminism debate definitely has the potential for 'volatility' since it centered around salvation, but this current discussion of "last things" does not, and I do not see how anyone should get 'fired up' about disagreeing with the chronology of these events, since it has absolutely nothing to do with salvation (The only thing is: we must be prepared! :-) ). Blessings my friend! Nolan |

4 | Order of events at the 2nd Coming? | 1 Thess 4:17 | EdB | 14891
Nolan I do not believe Jerusalem will ever again be out the Israel's hands until the Antichrist sits on throne. In Ez. 38 God will stop the war and save Israel I believe Gog and Magog are spiritual princes, one is of Islam and the other of territory north of Israel. I believe unless God intervenes this time we will see these two princes raise up a Muslim jihad to storm against Israel, with a force mighty enough to destroy Israel. Just as God did in the six day war, God will intervene and stop the war. Then a man will come on the scene with a plan and will make a covenant that will insure Israel peace of at least 7 years. That man will eventually be revealed as the antichrist in the middle of that 7 year period and will declare himself God.
5 | Order of events at the 2nd Coming? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Makarios | 14896
Hello Ed, Are you saying that before this man declares himself God and when the Lord intervenes again (as He did in the six day war), then that is when the rapture will occur, since we will be spared from all of this according to the "pre-trib" view? Blessings! Nolan |

6 | Order of events at the 2nd Coming? | 1 Thess 4:17 | EdB | 14915
Nolan I did not say when the rapture would occur. I can see the rapture occur at the beginning, I can see the rapture occur in the middle and I can even be convinced it would occur during the Jesus second comming. However I believe it is most likely pre or mid. What will happen is during the Ez. 38 battle God will intervene and Israel will be spared total destruction and a man, the antichrist, will have a prescription for peace. Eventually all power will be handed over to him
7 | Order of events at the 2nd Coming? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Makarios | 14922
Hello EdB! Yes, I was wondering exactly when the rapture occurs, based on a "pre-trib" perspective.. However, I am "mid-trib" in my view, since 1 Thess. 4:16-17 seems to take place (the rapture) at the moment of the return of Christ, and 2 Thess. 2:8 states that the Lord will slay the antichrist "by the appearance of His coming". In other words, the death of antichrist and the rapture occur almost at the same time! This is basically my view, and this best explains why I am "mid-trib" instead of "pre-trib." Also, how would one explain the presence of the Two Witnesses based on a "pre-trib" persuasion? These are all interesting questions, my friend! :) Blessings, Nolan |

8 | Order of events at the 2nd Coming? | 1 Thess 4:17 | EdB | 14938
Nolan 1 Thess. 4:16-17 can't be return of Christ, since Acts 1:11 tells us he will return with faces looking up. In 1 Thess. 4:16-17 the saint meet him and there is no indication of Him actually appearing to earth. Jesus also can't return mid trib since as you stated he will slay the antichrist (confine him to the lake of fire) but not until after the antichrist has defiled the temple and killed many Jews. That would be the last part of the Trib. Most mid tribs believe Jesus will return for them but it will not be Jesus 2nd coming but rather just as the name implies the rapture. Most everyone believe Jesus' second coming will be at the end of the Trib. Rev 19. The two witnesses are ministry to the Jew and nothing else. I doubt many gentile will even be concerned about them, with the exception of those the behold their awesome wrath. Many speculate on who the two witnesses can be. First they have to be two men that are Hebrew, which eliminates everyone before Abraham. Second they have to be men the Jews would listen too, since they are going to tell them they have been wrong all this time. Third they have to be men of power but humbleness since God requires the Glory. Most believe that can only be Moses and Elijah. But Abraham himself, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, David, Elisha, Samuel, and practically any other OT prophet would fit the bill |
