1 | Order of events at the 2nd Coming? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Makarios | 14854
Hello Tim! Wow! You have given us a lot to begin with! As far as the Reign of Anti-Christ is concerned, the "restrainer" needs to 'step aside' first (2 Thess. 2:6-7) so that the Anti-Christ can take control. Then the Lord will slay Anti-Christ with "the breath of His mouth" by the "appearance of His coming" (2 Thess. 2:8). This leads me to believe that the Lord will slay Anti-Christ at the instant that He comes back, while rapturing the church.. Would this be a correct understanding in the "mid-trib" position? This interpretation of 1 and 2 Thessalonians is what is convincing me to be "Mid-trib" rather than "Pre-trib" and the fact that the two witnesses must take part in the rapture also. But none of this can happen until the full number of Gentiles are saved (Romans 11:25, Luke 21:24). When all of the Gentiles who will accept Christ have accepted Him, then I am correct in thinking that this must come first before the Jesus' Second Coming? Good discussion! Nolan |

2 | Order of events at the 2nd Coming? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Morant61 | 14857
Greetings Nolan! I wasn't sure where to place the reign of the anti-christ in relation to Daniel's 70th week. He has to be there during the first 3 1/2 years in order to make the covenant with Israel. It is at the halfway point that he breaks that covenant and reveals himself for who he really is. So, it may be that he reigns in a veiled sense during the first 3 1/2 years. At the rapture, the "Restrainer" will be removed and the anti-christ revealed for whom he really is. 2 Thess. 2:8, I believe, would refer to the Second Coming. The full number would probably take place during the first 3 1/2 years. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

3 | Order of events at the 2nd Coming? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Makarios | 14861
Greetings Tim! Ok.. What would be the 'Event' that finally triggers the first 3 1/2 years? Would this be the "covenant" spoken of in Daniel 9:27? 27“And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate.” (NASB) Also, who is the "restrainer" in 2 Thess. 2:6-7? I have thought that this would be the Holy Spirit. If it is the Holy Spirit, then how can this be if the Holy Spirit will be with us forever (John 14:16)? If the Holy Spirit has to "step aside", then would this not mean that He has to leave the earth? These are all honest questions! I seek no controversy or argument, I am still seeking to sort all of this out. Blessings! Nolan |

4 | Order of events at the 2nd Coming? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Morant61 | 14865
Greetings Nolan! I appreciate the questions, but I don't have all the answers. The Event: I think you are right. The covenant will signal the beginning of Daniel's 70th week. The breaking of the covenant will signal the second half of Daniel's 70th week. The Restrainer: Again, I agree with you. I think that the Restrainer is the Holy Spirit. At the rapture of the Church, I believe that the Holy Spirit will withdraw His restraining influence. I don't believe He will cease to be on earth, since He is omni-present. But, I believe He will step aside and allow the anti-christ full reign during the last half of the 70th week. During that time, I believe people can and will come to Christ, but it will be extremely difficult. It will also be an automatic death sentence. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Greetings Tim! Yes, this is also along my line of thinking as well.. But it is good to take the whole of Scripture and see what it says so that we could come up with a basic view of events that are based upon Scripture. Thank you for your answers! Nolan |
