John Macarthur Is American Baptist I believe a very conservative denomination. Some mentioned he is Reformed I take that to mean Calvinistic, while he holds to some aspects of Calvin's teachings he does not hold to all that I'm aware of. His study Bible is excellent as is his commentaries. EdB |

Thank you EdB. I am going to have to take a few days to go over all this information! I feel overwhelmed but, in a good way. There is so much to learn! Now that I found out how much there is I can't stop! I read at night with a flashlight so as not to keep my husband awake! I appreciate this site so much, my dad had patiently urged me to go to church my whole adult life, he prayed for me constantly and gave me advice. But, I'm so sorry to say that I didn't come to Christ until a year after he passed away.I miss him so much and I wish that I could have him here to ask all my questions. But, I think God helped me to find this site because here I have found people with the same spirit as my father. We all remember him sitting at the kitchen table with his bible open and reference books so piled up that my mother had to get another table to eat at! Sorry for the personal info but, when you said that Macarthur was calvinistic it reminded me of my dad because he had said something about that before, though, I don't know what calvinistic means.:) | ||||||
