1 | When God directs..is it always perfect? | Gal 5:22 | sisteract777@juno.com | 17138
I was wondering if there is a simple way to gage when the Lord is directing you into a job or a change in occupation etc....does everything always fall into place when its God directed? I've heard people make that statement when they get the job their believing for or the wonderufl dream house. My life hasn't been that simple. So, I wonder if I'm missing the mark. Is that true..can you gage life's decisions on that premise?
2 | When God directs..is it always perfect? | Gal 5:22 | Searcher56 | 17221
Sister, Charis is correct. God's plans are perfect, but, they don't always fall into place, from our view. That is a lie of the health and wealth people. Look at Jeremiah (who saw no converts), Job (who was living well, then God took it all away), Paul (who endured hardships) ... Steve |

3 | what's the name it claim it theory? | Gal 5:22 | roviear | 57765
Charis (or anyone), I know this is a very old post. I cannot seem to find any discussions on the "name it claim it" theory. What are the precepts for this and how is it possible for us as Christians to name it, then claim it? Can we really order God around because it's in His Word? For example, can we really claim good health because God doesn't give bad health? My single friend is claiming marriage, but can she do this based solely on the fact that God created marriage? What about spiritual gifts? Can we claim prophecy because it is in the Bible and therefore is for everyone? What about speaking in tongues? Another issue: I know God spoke things into being. He created them. Since we are in His image, can we do the same thing (one of the foundations for the name it claim it theory)? I have my opinions, but do not know how to support or disprove them using the Word. I believe that not everything in the Bible is for everyone. Am I wrong? Please help! In Christ, Estelle |

Hi Estelle After reading your post, the following scriptures came to mind. Mark 11:24 For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]. John 15:7 If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you. 1 John 5:13-15 I write this to you who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) the name of the Son of God [in the peculiar services and blessings conferred by Him on men], so that you may know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that you [already] have life, yes, eternal life. And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us. And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him. I have absolutely NO way of knowing, but my question is could the above scriptures be what those who may be labeled ‘name it, claim it’ ers are basing this theory on? Now whether they have rightly or wrongly drawn their conclusion, I know not. But could… is it possible that this theory was born out of these scriptures? As I thought of your question ‘Can we really order God around because it's in His Word?’ the following biblical account came to mind. Exodus 32:9-14 And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people: Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation. And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand? Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people. Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever. And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people. I’m hesitant to say Moses was ordering God around. It appears to me that he was trusting in the covenant that God had made with Abraham, Isaac, and Israel. I look forward to seeing the responses you get to your post. Abba Father Bless… |

Dear mbooker, Mark 11:24 "For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]. Children often ask their parents for things that, if they recieved them, would cause great harm. "Daddy I want a real gun!" demands 6 year old Junior. Of course Dad says "No way Jose!". Are we so spiritualy mature that we can know, (in every circumstance) without a doubt, what is good for us? No way Jose! God will not give us that which is not in His will for us. Is it scriptural for me to pray for a Rolls Royce or a Mansion in Malibu. According to some fat cat TV "preachers", Yes! It is. God is just waiting for us to exercise or faith. All the kingdoms of the world can be ours. If you cast yourself off a mountain God will send an angel to catch you. What I don't understand is why they don't simply believe God for a goose that lays golden eggs instead of their constant pleas for donations! Oh I forgot. That would be denying the people an opportunity to get double their money back from giving to them. Forgive my sarcasm, but I cannot abide what I see as a willful perversion of the gospel. The bible clearly warns us about the dangers that riches pose. 1 Tim 6:9 "But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. Romans 8:26-28 "In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; FOR WE DO NOT KNOW HOW TO PRAY AS WE SHOULD, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." I don't care what anyone may say, but we are not "little gods". We are but dust into which God was pleased to breath life. Our knowledge and wisdom is limited. I do pray that God will bless me financialy but according to His will not mine. Afterall, it was hard times that drove me back to church after years of backsliding. Speaking of work, I better close for now. God Bless mbooker, John |

Amen John!! I agree that the prosperity and right of healing preaching is indeed a perversion. What I don't understand is why more in the Body don't preach this truth! This false message is being propogated at an amazing rate and I think that men and women of GOD who rightly divide the Scriptures must stand up and stop ignorate carnal Christians from falling for this deception. I know the Bible says quite a bit about judging, but this would clearly be righteous indignation, wouldn't it? GOD bless!! chris |

Dear Chris, I appreciate your zeal for the gospel. As for judgement, I believe we are to judge others in what they say and do. Are they right or wrong? I stop short of judging the eternal destiny of individuals because God has commanded me not to. And I am incompetent to discern the future anyway. Welcome to the Forum! John |
