1 | Knowing sin before the "law"? | Rom 7:7 | calmira | 168807
You are assuming I don't believe - this isn't the case. I simply want to NOT be ignorant and learn more about God and his Word and this is a question that non-believers have brought up to me various times. I would love to give a response that has a semblence of sense, i.e.,...be prepared to give an answer. (I really like that quote from Job, thank you).
2 | Are you prepared for the truth? | Rom 7:7 | hobbs | 168829
Are you prepared to accept God's teaching even when it appears to conflict with your own ideas of right and wrong? I know from experience that it can be a very hard thing to do. At times it require lots of prayer and grace before we are made willing to surrender to the decrees of our Lord and Ruler. May the Lord grant you all grace as you seek to know Him better. John |

3 | Are you prepared for the truth? | Rom 7:7 | calmira | 168836
Speaking for myself, John, I do accept his teachings fully and try not place ideas of right or wrong on the "truth". I want to separate the "accepting" and "understanding" concept of my original question; I accept many things that I do not understand and hope to seek the knowledge to help me understand the things that I accept AND don't understand throught prayer and the seeking of answers from those, who through the same process, have come to attain greater knowledge of our Lord. Thank you for your posts. In Christ. Carlos |

4 | Are you prepared for the truth? | Rom 7:7 | lionheart | 168845
Carlos, It is clearly obvious that you have a heart for God.I;d like to encourage you with a few things here. One of the first passages of scripture I studied out after becomming a disciple of Jesus Christ was 2 Peter 1:1-15. This passage has served me well over the years. God doesnt want us to waste our relationship with him.He wants us to nurture and cultivate it. He wants our walk with him to be effective. This passage has always been a major source of encouragement to me and still is after all these years. I've heard the term blind faith used over the years, there is no such animal where Gods people are concerned. Hebrews 11:1, 12:1 are blockbusters. We may not understand it all,but I assure you that God has given us all the evidence we will ever need. It's all right there in front of us in His Word. Do 2 Timothy 2:15 every day. God is always faithful and so must we be. The day will come when it will all be crystal clear for us. Till then we just trust God and keep our focus on him. In Christ, lionheart |
