1 | Two beginnings? | John 1:1 | Makarios | 106545
Greetings Chemprof! The Table of Periodic Elements does not begin to address all of the resources that were at God's disposal in creating the heavens and the earth! :-) John 1:1 speaks of the Word, or the Son (Christ), who was already in existence with God, as God, before the world became into existence. Therefore, John 1:1-3 is referring to the creation of the world, the same as Genesis 1:1. But what Genesis 1:1 clearly states that John 1:1-3 explains, is that God in all His fullness; that being God the Father (John 1:1), God the Son (the Word), and God the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:2), was present to create the heavens and the earth into existence! Genesis 1:1 (the creation of the world) does not necessarily have to occur AFTER the fall of Satan. As stated in Genesis 1:1, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Genesis 1:1 mentions the heavens and the earth being created. Therefore, it is most likely AFTER Genesis 1:1 that Satan fell, since Satan would have to be 'created' first in order to 'fall.' I agree with what you say. Its just that I have seen in a number of commentaries that the Genesis creation was a sort of reconstruction of the earth after Satans fall. But, there is no reason not to believe that Satan could have been created prior to Genesis 1:1........
3 | Two beginnings? | John 1:1 | Makarios | 106550
Genesis 2:1 tells us "Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them." Therefore, at some point God created the 'host' in heaven, including Satan. And if Satan walked in the Garden of Eden (Ezekiel 28:13) before he fell, then the fall of Satan had to happen some time relatively close to the fall of man, if not at the same time as the fall of man. 4 | A Good Satan in Eden??? | John 1:1 | chemprof | 106551
But at the time of man's fall, Satan was being "Satan".........the evil one. I'm thinking his fall was long before that.Strongs concordance defines the Hebrew word for hosts as a huge amount of persons, creatures, spirit beings, or objects all of the same class as in Gen 2:1. So the hosts could refer to the creatures God made and put on earth....not necessarily angelic beings. Yes?
5 | A Good Satan in Eden??? | John 1:1 | Makarios | 106555
Greetings Chemprof, Satan had most definitely fell at the time of the temptation and fall of man. But the question is, "At what point did Satan fall?" It was either at or sometime before the fall of man. But Scripture does not specifically tell us when, even though Ezekiel 28:13 does mention (in my opinion) the 'pre-fallen' angelic being who was 'perfect in beauty' and who was in Eden, until "unrighteousness was found" (Ezek. 28:15) in him. I believe that Ezekiel 28:12-19 and Isaiah 14:12-17 are dual references to both the King of Tyre and to Satan. Blessings to you, Makarios |

6 | A Good Satan in Eden??? | John 1:1 | gatorgirl7563 | 107494
Bible scholars believe that Satan and his followers were cast down from Heaven for their rebellion between Genesis 1: 1-2; when, even though he was the most beautiful and highest standing angel, Satan wanted more....to be equal to God.
