I was reported to the owner of the forum and sent an Advisory Notice...How can you say the majority here is not here to work out their theories? There are people with questions about biblical matters...some don't necessitate scripture but a person with biblical knowledge to explain to them in laymen terms the answer...which I call...my theory, my belief, my opinion...even if I do give ch. and verse I may say that it is my understanding of that verse and, in essence, giving out the ch. and verse to answer a question... you are actually giving your own opinion of what that verse means....we all do not agree because we are not all on the same spiritual level...that's why some ask more and some answer more...Does this not make sense to anyone? I can be very specific and detailed without giving ch. and verse...but okay! I see he importance of it here...I, too, hold a very high view of Scripture and hate that I have to defend that here...I don't have enough years of wisdom I guess. Sister |

Dear Sister, Greetings in the name of Jesus! You are not under attack. This particular forum is sponsored by the Lockman Foundation, an organization that has sought to give an accurate translation of the word of God, the Bible, to as many souls as possible. They have provided this internet opportunity to us free of charge, and desire that we pursue the truth of the Bible through discussion and sharing the results of our studies and practical application of the truths contained in the Bible. This would allow for a certain amount of opinion and experience. But every Christian is called to defend their faith and give account. "...but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;" 1 Peter 3:15 NASB. The word for defend is 'apologia,' meaning a plea, or an answer. The word for account is 'logos,' meaning something said, and often referring to the Bible, as in 'Divine Communication.' We are a fellowship of saints seeking to learn more from one another about the Bible, God's holy communication to us. Please join us with this in mind. Now I am no scholar. Like you, I do not have Scriptures just popping into my mind. I have several Bibles and commentaries, and I use a great Bible software called e-Sword. It is free, and really helps you to find the passage you are looking for. Then I take the time to cut-and-paste the appropriate verses into my post. This way, you can be sure that what you say is Biblical, and you come closer to God through your STUDY of the Bible. I also use an online dictionary to make sure my words are right, and spelling correct. I know that this takes time and discipline, but I am sure that it is well worth the effort. In this way, you will acquire wisdom! You see, wisdom doesn't just come by living a long time! :-) Finally, I noticed in your user profile that you don't get to church that often. Please understand that while we each are called to know God and the Bible, we are not called to 'do it on our own.' We are alled called to be part of his church. Committing yourself to a local church strengthens your walk with Jesus, and helps you to gain those godly attributes that Jesus desires for us. Don't fool yourself into thinking that just reading the Bible 'by your lonesome' will give you all the insight you need to be right. You, and every other Christian ever born again, NEED the church, and the church NEEDS you! Beloved Sister, bless your path! In Christ Jesus, charis |

As I have said before I read the Bible everyday...I also do studies on it...but I believe this verse Hebrews 8:10,11 "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God and they shall be My people. "None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, 'know the Lord,' for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. also...Hebrews 9:11 But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. and...Hebrews 9:24 For Christ has not entered the Holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into Heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; and especially this...Hebrews 3:6 but Christ as Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end. Now here's were I say "I believe" and everyone gets upset....I believe that this Scripture and many other verses tell us that the true Church of God is not in a building made with hands but is us when we agree...and I do feel (uh oh I said I feel) that everyone's walk with God is very personal and very secret in that it's supposed to be between you and God only...not that you are not supposed to shine your light but one does not have to be in church to shine...most people in church are already saved! I do not think bad of those who go to church regularly...and I have gone many times before and intend to again...but I do not say that one must have church to have a relationship with God...Peace! tremere 123: You say, "I do not think bad of those who go to church regularly...and I have gone many times before and intend to again...but I do not say that one must have church to have a relationship with God." ..... The Bible says, "and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together as the habit of some is, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near." [Hebrews 10:24,25]. --Hank | ||||||

You have to have church for that? It says "assembling together" it doesn't say church specifically... 1 Corinthians 3:16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 1 Cor 3:9 For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building. Peace and Sincerest Apologies to you my Elder, Tremere (Sister) |
