1 | Is Genesis 1:2 the fall of satan? | Gen 1:2 | Appleseed | 143817
Hi, Thought I would answer this question in 2 notes - #1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Gen. 1:1). When God creates something it is always perfect (Deut. 32:4; Ps. 18:30). “For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens, who is God, who formed the earth and made it, who has established it, who did not create it in vain, who formed it to be inhabited” (Is. 45:18). So why does the next verse say “the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep”? There is no time frame given from the creation of earth (Gen. 1:1) to the chaos on the earth (Gen. 1:2). “The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters” (Gen. 1:2). Jeremiah speaks of the exact same thing, “I beheld the earth, and indeed it was without form, and void; and the heavens, they had no light. I beheld the mountains, and indeed they trembled, and all the hills moved back and forth. I beheld, and indeed there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens had fled. I beheld, and indeed the fruitful land was a wilderness, and all its cities were broken down at the presence of the LORD, by His fierce anger” (Jer. 4:23-26). This has never happened since then and will never happen not even during the tribulation. The earth was literally destroyed and covered with water. And because there was no light there was no heat therefore the earth was literally a ball of ice. Then God reformed the earth and recreated physical life forms over 6 days. Could God do make plants grow in super quick time? Of course He can. Who destroyed the earth? What was before the destruction? And why was the earth destroyed? Is there any correlation between the flood of Gen. 1:2 and God flood in the days of Noah Gen. 7? Who destroyed the earth? God destroyed the earth. Job said, “God removes the mountains, and they do not know when He overturns them in His anger; He shakes the earth out of its place, and its pillars tremble; He commands the sun, and it does not rise; He seals off the stars” (Job 9:5-7). This has not happened since Adam and will not happen, not even in the tribulation period. Then Job goes on to describe Gen. 1:2-5. “He alone spreads out the heavens, and treads on the waves of the sea; He made the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, and the chambers of the south” (Job 9:7-9). |

2 | Is Genesis 1:2 the fall of satan? | Gen 1:2 | Appleseed | 143818
so #2 We need to ask what was before the destruction in Genesis 1:2? Lucifer is known as the King of Tyre and Babylon was in the physical world before Adam and Eve, revived later after Adam and Eve by the hands of men by the authority of Babylon in the spiritual world. Babylon in the spiritual world will be cast down at the end of the great tribulation (Rev. 14:8; 17:1-7). The LORD God said to the son of man, tell Lucifer, “You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering: the sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created. You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; you were on the holy mountain of God; you walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones” (Ezek. 28:12-14). Lucifer was perfect in Eden. We know that he was not perfect when Adam was there so God was referring to a time before then, i.e. the time after God created the Heavens and the earth but before the destruction in Genesis 1:2. Back then Lucifer was the best-looking angel, or else God would not have mentioned how beautiful Lucifer was. By his physical composition he was created to praise God, what an incredible honor. He was also part of the Holy government. On the Holy Mountain with God like Moses was (Ex. 24:10,17). He ruled the earth because we know that he was located on earth (in the garden of Eden). And God says, “By the abundance of your trading you became filled with violence within, and you sinned; therefore I cast you as a profane thing out of the mountain of God; and I destroyed you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the fiery stones” (Ezek. 28:16). “How the oppressor has ceased, the golden city ceased! The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers; He who struck the people in wrath with a continual stroke, He who ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted and no one hinders… "Hell from beneath is excited about you, to meet you at your coming; it stirs up the dead for you, all the chief ones of the earth; it has raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. They all shall speak and say to you: "Have you also become as weak as we? Have you become like us?” (Is. 14:4-6,9-10). They knew that Lucifer had authority because he was with God. God continues to say, “Your pomp (your pride) is brought down to Sheol, and the sound of your stringed instruments; the maggot is spread under you, and worms cover you. How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! “How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations!” (Is. 14:11-12). He weakened the nations before he was striped of his authority and was thrown out of heaven to earth. Jesus, the Word of God, mentioned Satan’s fall, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven” (Luke 10:18). Lucifer corrupted the nations of the earth before Adam was created (between Gen. 1:1 and 1:2). These physical spirit beings that were on earth were under the rule of Lucifer. They were intelligent and had knowledge of good and evil. They had the ability to choose and they choose Lucifer. Lucifer lead the people astray from God’s command so God stripped from Lucifer from his authority over the earth and he was thrown to the earth. When he fell, he fell as the son of the morning, talking about his original fall not the fall during the tribulation. What was the start of Lucifer’s sin? Pride, “For you have said in your heart: "I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High. Yet you shall (his future during the 1000years reign of Christ – Rev. 20:1-3) be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit” (Is. 14:13-15). He said within himself that he would ascend into heaven? He was already part of the government of God but his ruler ship was over the earth. He ruled earth before iniquity was found in him. Hi, Appleseed... Thank you for your posts. Is the view that the two creation accounts are distinct events necessary? Where in the biblical text does it require this conclusion? In Him, Doc |

4 | Is Genesis 1:2 the fall of satan? | Gen 1:2 | Appleseed | 143825
Hi Doc, Is it necessary? Yes the truth needs to be revealed in order to answer questions the secular world has. For us as Christians it makes no difference. But it is a stumbling block to many because of what they believe Christians have told them. The earth until now is 6000years. We also know that from Gen. 1:3 until today is approx 6000Years (give and take 50years) but it is not true to say from Gen. 1:1 to today it is 6000years. As there are other scripture which I mentioned previously that could not have happened after this period and will never happen not even during the end times or the 1000years reign of Christ - after this we know it is eternity, no more time and no more satan on earth. So the only time is before. I will provide a brief further insight. We know from the verses (not Theory) that satan was on earth, in eden, before he fell. We know from scripture that he fell before Adam and the Woman were created ("the serpent of Old"). Also that The Genesis 1 has two Hebrew words that describe two key activities God used in the reconstruction of the earth - Bara (means to Create, bring into existence from nothing, 01254 Strong’s) and Asah (means to Mold/Fashion what already exists, 06213 Strong’s). God created the earth and the heavens in Genesis 1:1 then He destroyed it by casting Satan down to entire earth and removing His light from the earth. The earth still existed but in a destructive state (Gen. 1:2). Then God rebuilt the earth by calling things that be not as if they are. Things that already existed from previous He used and molded the earth into shape (e.g. Gen. 1:7). God created us from Himself He took of Himself fashioned it to make man’s spirit. Then made a man’s body (the flesh) from dust of the earth and breathed the life (spirit and soul) into the body then the body became alive (Gen. 2:7). He put the man into Eden (Gen. 2:8). Then told him to tend and guard the Garden of Eden (Gen. 2:15). This was the first commandment He told man (not multiply :)), this was even before the woman came. Guard it from what? From Satan because he was still on earth. Then God made the woman etc. And God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth” (Gen. 1:28 KJV). God gave the authority/dominion over the earth to mankind. But some time after the 7th day, Satan slipped into Eden and possessed the serpent (“serpent of old” Rev. 12:9; 20:2). The serpent tempted the woman to eat of the forbidden fruit. And the woman was deceived and ate, then gave it to the man. And the man ate knowingly he was disobeying God (1 Tim. 2:14). Then God said to the serpent (the devil, Satan), “Because you have done this, you are cursed more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field; on your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel” (Gen. 3:14-15). The seed was the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Satan needed to stop the seed from coming and one way he could do it was to pollute the seed. So Satan convinced 1/3 of the angels to follow him to earth in order to stop the seed from coming to earth (Rev. 12:1-4). Only way to pollute the seed was to mix it with Angelic seed (Angels having sex with humans). SOME of those angels went around the earth having sex with everyone to defile the seed (Gen. 6:1-12). If they continued they would have polluted the seed and God’s word would not have come to pass – the Messiah. Noah was the only one who was still righteous (Gen. 6:10-12). So God told Noah to build an ark because God was going to destroy everyone in the earth with a flood. Ark was to save Noah, His family and animals. When Noah had completed the ark the LORD flooded the earth. The angels who went around trying to polluting the seed by having sex with humans were locked up and placed in chains until the day of judgment, all the people besides Noah and his family died (2 Peter 2:4-5). “And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire” (Jude 1:6-7). Those fallen angels who weren’t cast into chains are still today helping Satan. In The Living Vine |

5 | Is Genesis 1:2 the fall of satan? | Gen 1:2 | Hank | 143838
Appleseed - In your response to Doc, Post 143825, appear these words, "The earth until now is 6000 years. We also know that from Gen. 1:3 until today is approx. 6000 (give or take 50 years) but it is not true to say from Gen. 1:1 to today is 6000 years." ...... Now how do you KNOW all this? Scripture doesn't say how old the earth is and it doesn't say a word about any time lapse between Genesis 1:1 and 1:3. And science certainly doesn't KNOW how old the earth is, though scientists over the years have proposed more theories about it than a dog has fleas. So how is it that you know? The truth is you don't. You have no facts with which to back your assertions. ..... My dear Appleseed, let's look at what this web site is and what it is not. It IS a Bible study forum. It IS NOT a place to air groundless theories while misrepresenting them to be scriptural truth. It IS NOT a site designed by the Lockman Foundation to pander to the self-aggrandizement of every soap-boxing whiz kid on the internet who wishes to promote his pet theory or play guessing games or speculate to his heart's content on any subject on earth or heaven. ..... So do please note and take counsel of the clause in this Forum's guidelines to which you agree whenever you enter a post: "This post is biblically based..." --Hank
