Subject: What was reason for the virgin birth? |
Bible Note: Greetings STJ! Most on this forum are capable of carrying on discussions concerning difficult questions. :-) The only 'problem' with your question is that it requires a high degree of speculation. We know from Scripture that Jesus was tempted, but that He did not sin. However, there are two very different understandings of temptation. Those who believe that Jesus could not have sinned would argue that He did not have to be able to sin in order to be tempted, while those who believe that He could have sinned would argue that He must have been able to have sinned in order for the temptation to be real. Unfortunately, Scripture doesn't definitely answer the question. :-) Personally, I think both sides make some excellent points! :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
