Subject: Crusifixtion a sacrafice? John 3:16 |
Bible Note: CDBJ, I'm very grateful that you brought Jesus' statement of it being finished up. I wish I had thought of it sooner. That certainly seems to debunk any mysterious punishment in hell being needed during those three days our Lord was in the grave. However, here is the verse: Joh 19:30 When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, "It is finished," and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. I think it is much more reasonable that since Christ said this phrase as He was actually dying, that he was referring to His physical death. That seems a much more reasonable understanding of this text than to speculate that He was signifying his spiritual death and seconds later his physical. In Christ, Beja |
