Bible Answer: The first question I have for you, how much do you look forward to your own death? If you are a Christian, you know it is only a temporal death, yet many still do not look forward to the end. Your body will fight to stay alive as long as it can. With that being said, when you die, you are not taking on the sins of the WHOLE world; you aren't even taking on your sins. Christ, who was without sin, took on everyone’s sin. I don't think we can even imagine what that would be like. His death "only lasted three days". Let me place you in a totally dark room, void of everything except the walls that are keeping you in and see how long three days feels like to you. Ultimately, the most important part, the Son of God, who knew no sin, became sin, so that we could be found acceptable to the Father. He did what we couldn’t do and paid the price by taking on the sin that we can't get rid of on our own. He willing accepted my wickedness on His perfect state so that I might be redeemed. Christ bears the scars from that day (John 20:27) when HE took on the sins of the world. Brad |
