Subject: Why so many Bibles? |
Bible Note: Thank God that he Loves everybody maybe that is one word in the English language that will never change. I see that this question has given way to many answers and comments by a lot of knowledgeable people. Seems like the translators are all attempting to make things easier for everyone to understand, which is fine, however sometimes can be more confusing. When children are taught one thing by their parents and another by sunday school teachers and come home after church and say your bible is wrong mama that's not whatmy teacher's says don't you think all of this will be confusing to them. They aren'tas knowlegeable as our english majors or college grads or our translators. Most of them believe what they are told. Do we tell them just pick out which one you want to read, or do we teach them to understand what they read. My 8 year old daughter tries to read along at church and has told me several times that's not what my bible says.I have tried to explain that there are many different versions to her but she still doesn't understand why. When you can't read along how do you know what the teacher or preacher or other individual is telling you is true. Easier for a adult than a child. God bless you all hope I haven't stirred up too much controversy over this I just feel like everyone should be on a level playing field and taught the same. |
