Subject: The right presidential candidate |
Bible Note: Dear CDBJ, My understanding is the USA was founded as a Christian nation and on the Biblical principles. It has been an American tradition to elect people who love God and do His will. So, pastors gave Christians so-called "election sermons" and evaluated candidates from the Biblical views. So, it is sad that the church is not involved in elections any more, setting aside politics as a non-Christian matter or accepting the secluar views that the candidate's capabilities are more important than his/her godly character. It is also sad that we prison ourselves to the Bible, ignoring how to live as salt and light to the world, which requires us to critically think everything (including politics) from the Biblical views. For example, the Bible implies AntiChrist will appear as a political figure. If we exclude politics from the Christian life, it is like we don't mind AntiChrist's appearance. I don't see what's wrong with my question on who is the right person for Christians to vote for in this forum. I wanted to see how the Bible, our ultimate life standards, can be applied to the presidential election. I hope we live out a Christian life in every aspect of our daily life issue. |
