Subject: Elders not a pastor should lead church |
Bible Note: Greetings Bereaniam, I know exactly where you are coming from. I checked out and found the perfect local church the other day, and then they checked me out and wouldn’t let me join because if I joined they wouldn’t be perfect anymore, with me in the congregation. (Just kidding; well at least about the first part.) I get the same vibes that you are getting from the local church that I attend and I can see it getting further and further away from a concentrated effort to disseminate Bible doctrine. They appear to be more interested in the numbers attending then they are the quality of the message and are doing every thing they can to please the most. They are always expanding their outreach and trying to raise funds for their projects but they aren’t giving the Word out to those they reach. It’s great to help people that need help but what is the sense in helping them with their present problem if aren’t given God’s solution for their bigger problem. Sort of like pulling people out of the frying pan so they can throw them into the fire. 1 Cor. 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. The way I see it, the biggest problem in the World today is attributed to the fact that people are trying to live without Christ, with out hope and without eternal life and Jesus can fix it all! Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. There’s more room on the top of the soap box, CDBJ |
