Bible Note: Hank: As i read this note it took me back to a church in the mountian of Arizona. I preached in a church (the oldest Southern Baptist Church in the state) for sever months while attending Grand Canyon College. This church has a pot belly heat stove, out houses, no air conditioning, and the stove did a very poor job of heating. Once a month they had a pot luck and when they did the pay wse reduced by ten dollars. They norminally paid the speaker thenty five dollars. Needless to say this did not even pay for gas back in 1983. In Missouri in the country you stll see churches with out houses and perhaps no electricty, I don't know about that for sure. So Hank, ppeople when motivated will do and put up with a lot of inconvience to worship. Not many will will but a few. Tent meenting happen seldom but there are a few diehards still around. I am not sure if Arkansas has any of these "old time Churches left, I would think so. Have a good day and God Bless. justme |
