This principle was the foundation of the Protestant seperation from the popes of Rome who had concocted a complex theology of salvation that included works as a requirement for salvation. John 14:15 "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. "Be baptized" is a command! Acts 10:48 And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Rom 3:28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law. The desire to please Christ by obeying His commands is an "evidence" that a person has truly been "born again" and is indeed a new creature in Christ. John Reformed |
