Subject: clean body natural and spiritual |
Bible Note: Dear CSM, You wrote, "I Cor 2:13 is the heart of the New Testament teaching starting from John 1:33, John 14:26, 17, Acts 2:4, 33, 39, and many others as the purpose of the teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit himself. Of course he teaches truth, so that is God's word, but he also give the revelation and understanding of this truth." (sic) Okay... I concur... not sure how this paragraph contributes to the ontological question we are discussing. In fact that paragraph and the following seem quite out of left field. Do you think I don't believe in man's spirit? Or do you think that I don't believe in the Holy Spirit? I have never denied their existence. Consequently, your arguments -- and I'm assuming that is what they are -- have nothing whatsoever to do with the question at hand. You wrote, "II Cor 10:12 seems to me to be a warning to all people who think they have all the answers of both the Spiritual and natural things..." etc. This is quite puzzling... I am not the one making sweeping statements about the nature of man. I'm just pointing out that the passages you are choosing do not support the notion of the trichotomy of man. I am not the one making assertions. You wrote, "You do agree that man is both spiritual and physical (or natural)?" Yes, of course I do. That can be clearly demonstrated from Scripture. What cannot be demonstrated as easily is that a third component exists. What did you think I've been talking about all this time? You wrote, "I realize some of these issues are considered by some as side issues to the original subject. I don't feel anything is a side issue and that all issues of life are connected in some way as a whole." All well and good, son, but effective communication means connecting the dots. :-) In Him, Doc |
