Bible Question:
A few days ago I noticed a quite long thread that many in the Forum joined in on. The subject was self-pleasuring. I was amazed at the advice given by so many! Not to my amazment it seems to me that subjects that deal with moral issues, abortion, divorce, living together, and personal problems get what seems like too much attention. At times "keyboard psychologists" give advice that is not wise, and has no Biblical basis. My point is that I wish that some of the Bible based questions got as much response, and the threads were as long and wide in opinions. Why do you think this does not happen as much? |
Bible Answer: Justme: You have hit the nail on the head. I agree with you when you write: "Not to my amazement it seems to me that subjects that deal with moral issues, abortion, divorce, living together, and personal problems get what seems like too much attention... "My point is that I wish that some of the Bible based questions got as much response, and the threads were as long and wide in opinions." It is true that on the forum the threads that get the most response and have the longest life are those that are based on sensationalism, controversy and speculation. The nuttier the topic, the more crackpot the ideas, the more attention the thread receives. But post a serious, biblically sound Note and you will do well to receive one reply. There seems to be little interest in a sound, well-written post whose subject is not sensational, controversial or speculative. Frankly, I am dismayed. The forum has become exactly what it was not intended to be -- "a cage of every unclean and hateful bird" (Rev. 18:2). By unclean and hateful birds I do not mean persons; instead I am referring to heretical, unbiblical speculation and sometimes just plain bad (false) doctrine. Moreover, I suggest that everyone read the forum guidelines -- StudyBibleForum.com is NOT a chat room. Grace to you, Kalos |
