Bible Note: newoldstock To a degree I agree. However if one of your students came in with a NWT or the book of Mormon surely you would point out their error. I imagine if you did it constructively they would probably thank you for "teaching" them. I don't think you need to give them a course in Bible marketing or a view of behind the scenes of Bible publishing, but I see nothing wrong with saying I have stopped using the NIV because of the lack of integrity the publisher has exhibited. I have noticed most people are seeking knowledge and if the teacher will tell them what Bible he favors and why, and what Bibles he avoids and again briefly why, many people will make the necessary adjustments. I have noticed most of the time if the teacher, leader or pastor specifies a Bible that will be the Bible a vast majority of the congregation will carry. EdB |
