Bible Question:
I am a married christian woman who's husband is currently in basic training for the National Guard. The training lasts 8 months and we were both wondering (discussions prior to his leave and currently through letters) if masturbation while apart and thinking only of each other during the act is a sin. Corinthians 7:1-6 got us thinking and realizing sex is very important and that it should be used to please and satisfy each other. Now if the act and confessing of masturbation (while recalling previous pleasureable sexual activities between each other or fanasties involving each other) "turns on" each other especially when whispered in ears as foreplay when reunioned in the bedroom again, how does that apply? Thank you. |
Bible Answer: As far as I know..and I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. The actual word masturbation is not in the bible. (or any translation there of) Now...I would definately say that to think of anyone other then your spouse is covered.(Matthew 5:28). scripture does talk about being seperated/obstaining under mutual concent from your spouse for a time in prayer and coming back together to avoid temptation. I haven't seen this advice yet, so I'll pass it on. With something that is no specifically mentioned by word. The first thing I would do is for you and your husband to obstain from this for at least a period of time to be in prayer over it. The Lord can do wonderful things for a husband and wife that lay their burdens at the foot of the cross together. Search out commentaries and scriptures and pray, pray, pray. Seek and You shall find. |
