Bible Question: What is the biblical standard for "visions". Does anyone have a complete definition that is biblically based. In other words, not just one example but what the WHOLE Bible says on this issue? I know it gets down to that God speaks to each of us individually in a way that is unique and personal but does the Bible say that a vision must be like-------- in order to be a "true vision". |
Bible Answer: Peter teaches (2 Peter 1:17-21) that the Word is a superior message from God than even the personal experience of hearing God's voice (Matthew 17:5). If that be so, then I would treat any vision as a less certain and less personal communication to you than what you have in the Bible. It may be less spectacular, less novel, and less exciting... but it is something in which you can have complete confidence. |
