Subject: Age of Miracles - Past or Present |
Bible Note: I must apologize in taking so long to respond to your post. Back to the subject at hand. I must admit you make a good point and I should also say my statement quoted above was a little extreme. I guess from a certain point of view the lack of faith on these folks did factor into Jesus' decision not to perform miracles in their midst. But I should also say that at least the most important point of this whole discussion is that Jesus CHOSE not to perform these miracles because of their lack of faith. I would say in this instance, Christ chose "not to throw pearls to swine." So in the ultimate analysis, the net effect is the same: as far as we in this modern age (dispensation), miracles are still NOT impeded by our lack of faith or the lack of anyone's faith. The big difference should be our solid belief in Christ and His Word and our using His Word to "test the spirits" and evaluate these "miracles" in contrast to those in God's Word. But again, in a spirit of open mindedness, I would love to witness a miracle performed by a human being before the end of my life. So if you hear about such a miracle, meeting the qualifications as I've cited in my previous post, this thread, post no 126084, I'd be most interested in hearing about it. God bless, dear friend.
