Bible Question: I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHEN A VERSUS USES THE FEAR OF THE LORD WHAT IS IT SAYING. I DON'T THINK IT MEANS FEAR AS IN SCARED DOES IT? |
Bible Answer: Hi, My name is Jay To answer your question, the fear of the Lord relates to a reverence, respect, and it also denotes the type of fear you mentioned. Through this fear/ reverence we learn respect and Honor for God as our creator and everything that has been created. examples could include the incident of the burning bush that Mose encounted in Exodus 3:2-3:7. For so long a period God had been a mystery to mankind, to some, even a myth. An addition it also shows us that we must be conscious of who God is as creator. Surely He brought us into this world and He can surely take us out of this world. So this fear works interchangeably. for those that know Him this fear is reverence and for those who know Him not this fear can be horror. |
