Bible Question: Hi, I'm new to this but I have a very pressing question. It seems to me that the Old Testament's stand on homosexuality (Deuteronomy) is considered pretty much obsolete in our society. There are many things that we do today even though they are explicitly forbidden or condemned in the Old Testament. What does it mean then, for homosexuality and Christianity in general? If someone could answer this with the help of Bible verses, I would be very grateful. |
Bible Answer: Good Question... I think that first you should ask yourself if you believe that the Bible is the inerrent Word Of God and that in its present form still speaks Gods word across time for all situations. If the answer is yes then you need only seek what Gods reaction to Homosexuality and Lesbianism was then. "God is the same yesterday, today and forevermore" In other words..His word then is His word today. It is not the Homosexual or Lesbian that God hates, It is the sin of sexual immorality. Those are His children, his creation, they are tragicly afflicted by a lie of the deciever. We should have compassion on them as Jesus does, not on the way that they live. |
