Subject: What is marriage? |
Bible Note: Kalos, eons ago (or so it seems) before the dawn of the day in which I became a denizen of this Forum and adopted it as my sometime habitation on those occasions when it seemed good to absent myself from the real world, it was my hap to believe that marriage is a union between a man and a woman, instituted and sanctioned by God and attested by the proper authorities of the state of one's abode. Apparently my naivete is showing, for now I read on the Forum something that appears to my untutored mind to be gobbledygook, but perhaps it only appears that way to me because I have not yet emerged into the complex and confusing world in which it is possible to be married and yet not be married and, conversely, to be unmarried and yet be married. Oh, I'm at the end of my tether and pray that some kind soul can unkink my kinks and disembarrass my soul of my possible misconceptions of what constitutes marriage and what does not. Until that hour comes, I remain a poor, wayfaring soul lost in a dark wood, sans compass, sans dictionary or marriage manual. Woe is me, woe indeed. Sigh. --Hank |
