Bible Question:
1 COR.15:52 It will happen in a moment, in the blinking of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, the Christians who have died will be raised with transformed bodies. And then we who are living will be transformed so that we will never die. Rev. 11:15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices shouting in heaven: "The whole world has now become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever." Recently I have started a study on the rapture with an open mind. I have aproched this subject as if I have never heard a study on it before. The scripture listed above is the foundation that I started with. The question I want to answer is: at what point will the rapture take place?, with the tribulation pariod being the referance point. So far the only thing I can prove from scripture is, that the Christians will go through the tribulation. I'm not through researching so this is not my final conclusion. I started the research by searching the scripture on when the last trumpet would be blown. Can anyone tell me where the pre-rapture theory came from? I need this info. to complete my study. Bible Answer: Hi Rex, This theory was adopted in the early 1800’s and it basically gets it’s thrust from, 1 Thes. 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, This being said, people conclude that we won’t go through the great tribulation because they erroneously assume that the tribulation is the work of God, but the way I see it, it is the work of Satan in his last attempt to distroy God's elect. Rev. 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. Satan has been trying to kill the Jews for years and if he can’t get to them the Christians will do just fine. Rev. 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. This is the time, that last 3 ½ years called the great tribulation and is the same period spoken of by Jesus with reference to Daniel. Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) This is further expounded on by Paul in his letters to the Thessalonians. 2 Thes. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Why all of the warnings if the believers aren’t going to be here?? It looks like general Christendom, with the pretribulation theory, has fallen for the deception ploy that they have been warned against! Have a great day, CDBJ |
