Bible Question:
Hi, I wonder if there is a contradiction with regard to the words spoken by God concerning His son.Matthew 3:17 says "And a voice from heaven said,"This is my Son,whom I love;with him I am well pleased."The use of the person changes in Mark 1:11 "And a voice came from heaven:"You are my son, whom I love;with you I am well pleased. My question is,was God addressing us or His Son? |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Matt 3:17, Mark 1:11, Luke 3:22 ... anjao, Nolan is correct. There is no contradiction. We don't know if any of the writers were present. But, as with other accounts it is how they saw it (or how it was told to them). If you and I saw (heard) something, we may give the same account. Bottom line all Scripture is inspired by the Holy Spirit (2 Tim 3:16). Searcher |
