Bible Question:
Hi, I wonder if there is a contradiction with regard to the words spoken by God concerning His son.Matthew 3:17 says "And a voice from heaven said,"This is my Son,whom I love;with him I am well pleased."The use of the person changes in Mark 1:11 "And a voice came from heaven:"You are my son, whom I love;with you I am well pleased. My question is,was God addressing us or His Son? |
Bible Answer: Greetings anjao! I do not see any apparent contradiction in Matthew 3:17 and Mark 1:11.. In each case, God is addressing us ABOUT HIS SON. So, in each case, God is publicly declaring that THIS is His Son, Jesus, with Whom He is well pleased!! And the people are the "witnesses" of that declaration. Blessings to you, Nolan |
