Bible Question:
So the Spirit dwells within us but is not necessarily received by us...Let me see if I understand you - The Spirit is always there within us (guarantee of our inheritance), but we must ask God for Him to actually direct/guide/reveal? That sounds like something I can begin to grasp. I typically ask God to do all those things, although I do not usually mention the Spirit in my prayers. The term has been used in so many different ways so that I do not feel I really know what I am fully talking about when I say "Holy Spirit", so I usually avoid using the term unless I am sure I am using it correctly. I am sure God can understand what I'm saying though. -- Joren P.S. - Thank you for the Scripture. I will try and look at the passages again; hopefully the Spirit will reveal their meaning :-) |
Bible Answer: My dear friend we recieve the Holy spirit the very minute that we ask Christ to forgive our sins and be our savior it is then up to us as to how much of us the holy spirit can rule because we have to let him move in all of the way |
