Bible Question:
Hi, I would like some help on answering a friend's question. She believes one can loose their salvation and I've been trying to do a study that tells her you can't loose your salvation once you are really born again into the family of God. Can you help? Thanks! |
Bible Answer: Mat 13:4 And when he sowed, some [seeds] fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: I believe the key here is "really born again". Jesus showed this in His parable of the sower. Some may hear the Word and feel they believe but the Word does not really take root. Possibly because the person is not honestly willing to give up their sins or is too committed to gaining material wealth. If we say that we could lose our salvation because of something we do or don't do then we would have to assume that we gained salvation because of something that we did to deserve it. Rom 3:27 is clear that this is not the case. If someone could say they feel that they have lost their salvation it is only because they were never "really born again" as you said in your question.
