Bible Question:
Acts 8:18 ..the (s)Spirit was bestowed through the laying on of the apostles' hands..." Acts 8:19, "...may receive the (h)Holy (s)Spirit." 1 Tim 4:14, "Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you... 1 Tim 1:6, "... kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands." Question: Is not the holy spirit [sic] a spiritual gift from the Holy Spirit Himself? From the heart, Ray |
Bible Answer: Hi, Ray! Acts 8:18 - 19 would be "Spirit," because it talks about the Holy Ghost Himself 1 Timothy 4:14 and (I assume you meant) 2 Timothy 1:6 would be "spiritual gift" because those speak of something from God The Holy Spirit (God Himself) is a gift - Acts 2:38 spiritual gifts are from the Spirit (God) - 1 Corinthians 12 God is a Spirit (John 4:24) and He is holy, but when describing Him as being holy and a spirit, it would be Holy Spirit. (I almost confused myself!) WalkingTalkingBible |
