Subject: speaking in tongues |
Bible Note: In his epistle to the church at Corinth, the Apostle Paul makes it clear that speaking in tongues are : 1) a means by which man communicates to God; 1 Cor 14:2 For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God; for no one understands, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries. 2) a means by which the spirit of a man prays to God; 1 Cor 14:14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. 3) a means by which the spirit of the individual is edified (i.e., built up); 1 Cor 14:4 One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; 4) another Spiritual gift for which present-day believers should thank the Lord. 1 Cor 14:18 I thank God, I speak in tongues more than you all; blessings! prazn |
