Subject: How do we tithe properly? |
Bible Note: Thank you for the follow up. I'm sorry if you got the impression that God can be bought. This is obviously not true. No where in my answer did I elude to the fact that God can be bought. You were asking about tax credits and offering your time as a tithe. Malachi chapter 3 will be a great scripture reference for anyone struggling with tithing. I believe God asks us for the first 10 percent of material possesions. Even if that is considered puny in your eyes, believe me God does not consider it puny! It speaks directly to God wanting us to trust Him. It is being obedient to His command and trusting Him for the result. If you are doing it to get something from Him it is wrong. Your motive must simply be to obey and give to Him what He asks. I sense a harshness in your response by eluding to the possibilty that God wants to put you in the poor house because you tithe. This is the farthest thing from the truth. I pray you will continue to seek God in this matter because being obedient in tithing is a true way to grow in your relationship to Christ. |
