Bible Note: No Steve, I do not refuse to receive correction. I have been corrected many times on many subjects, and I have been corrected on this Forum! I have unswervingly demonstrated my fallibility many times over the course of my lifetime. Sometimes this came at great cost, other times it didn't. When I became more mature in the faith and knew what I believed, then I received correction much more quickly and with a kind spirit. I am here to learn more about the Bible. If I am wrong in my point of view and need correction, then I will take that into consideration and learn from it. I do not believe that some viewpoints of mine, such as "Paul was a leader" or "Paul's teaching of the Gospel was without error" or "buildings and inanimate objects do not suffer the consequences every time for the sin of a city" are 'sound' and do not need to be corrected in any way, Steve, and it would be ridiculous to spend any time trying to convince me of these things that I believe. I however, will accept correction if I am found in the wrong. I am not perfect, and the Forum (my postings) are a perfect example of that. I want to show you brotherhood in Christ, I really do. But I find it very difficult not to take issue with you when you cast speculation on some of the things that I 'assumed' that you also held so dear to you. This is why I react angrily towards you, Steve. If I was a beginning Christian, and if someone even mentioned that Paul's teachings may not be correct or faulty in some way, then I would strongly reconsider or doubt my faith! Do you really want to challenge things like this Steve? What is the point? Do you see where this could be disastrous for a fellow brother or sister in Christ? Steve, if I am wrong, then don't hesitate to tell me so, either on the Forum or through e-mail. But please reconsider before you attempt to question or cast doubt upon some of the 'truths' that we hold so dear to us, which helps to give strength and encouragement in our spiritual walks. |
